For the past 8 years, Meredith has been guiding Student Energy in engaging young people with the knowledge, skills, and training necessary to push forward a just and equitable energy transition. Her leadership gave youth perspectives a space and a platform to be heard. Her innovative ideas turned into concrete and tangible formulas and solutions that Student Energy adopts to this day.
Inheriting the organization from Student Energy’s founding team as the sole employee of the organization in 2015, Meredith has overseen the organization’s growth to a team of 40+ staff working all across the world, with a full Programs Ecosystem. Meredith was also instrumental in the creation of Student Energy’s Theory of Change, which continues to serve as Student Energy’s guiding light as we navigate the climate action and energy space.
Our Programs Ecosystem grew from the International Student Energy Summit, to soon launching SE Chapters, the Energy System Map, the Space for Youth portfolio, to organizing the SE Fellowship, SE Career Training, SE Guided Projects, and supporting the launch of SevenGen. We have built a large network of alums who are staying connected with Student Energy and their fellow alums while working towards advancing the energy transition.
Student Energy is also developing an emerging portfolio of research projects including the Global Youth Energy Outlook, the Energy Transition Skills Project, and the Youth Impact Framework, all focusing on youth voices in the climate and energy world.
Meredith continues to encourage young people to fulfill their potential toward the energy transition. Her belief in young people is what inspires Student Energy to continue doing the real work for youth in the climate and energy world.
