For maybe some idea of Holding's lethality go to 1:18 of the video. Even in slow motion the camera doesn't even pick up the ball until it bounces when it suddenly appears. I know it's a quirk of the ball's motion relative to the camera, but batsmen who faced the West Indian quicks often spoke of never seeing the ball until it magically appeared under their noses, and that shot gives you some sense of how that must have felt.

I've watched this countless time and still have not been able to properly diagnose the delivery. The batsman played his shot after the ball had already crashed into the stumps. I also cannot understand how he got that ball to keep low. A completely unplayable delivery.

I knew him my entire life with out knowing who he really was until I grew up. Living in the states I didn’t watch a lot of cricket. My sister had a best friend and are families are still very close to this day. When we were younger on occasion we would go to her uncle Mikey’s house. He was always reserved and kept to himself but was very kind. His wife was her Aunt and she did most of the talking. My dad being Trinidadian grew up watching cricket and I always noticed he was nervous around him. It was a really nice house and had a big backyard and we would always have a bunch of her cousins playing there with us. It wasn’t until I got older I realized who he really was. I had no idea he was such a legendary athlete and understood what he represented to the world. It wasn’t until saw his documentary that it hit me. Such a kind and humble human being
