Thank you for saying not flat ironing your hair! Natural hair doesn't have to be straightened to show off your length. The length of my curly hair is my length goals, not what it is straight, cause I never wear my hair straight. While I have more 3b/3c type hair and do take my twist down to wear my hair out once a week. You've gave me insight on caring better for my daughters 4a/4b type hair. I stopped adding butters to her hair and have been sticking to oil and flaxseed gel, let me testify what a difference! I use ayurvedic herbs to deep condition both our hair , but your tips were the missing link on what I needed to do different. She is 8 years old, I want to raise her to love the beautiful indigenous strands she has growing her head. Thank you 😘

I totally agree with you I have had a love hate relationship with my hair and my spirituality now that I’m coming back to it I just feel like I’m flourishing. I love the fact that I have to put all those made me promise in my hair and she’s like bomb .com for reawakening my love of homemade and natural products and reawakening in my spirit. Because my spirit guides me in what to do my hair. My hair is like a living extension of my spirit. And to see my hair permed or blow dried or hurt in anyway like I was doing for years. and not really knowing that I’m not only damaging my hair but I was damaging my spirit by doing all that crap to myself. And then with the putting in weave and hiding my hair and neglecting it I really feel like I was neglecting my spirit. The self love Necessary to take the time to be consistent to have a night routine to moisturize oil I just love that she reawakened that in my spirit. Thank you sis, I just love her. And about the party I am so down you say the word and all 23,000 subscribers will come out to LA to visit you to have the party so let’s party I’ll bring my head wraps and my mini twist. I’m here it’s very early or very late at night or early in the morning and a mini twisting my hair and I’m binge watching your videos and I feel like I know you sis. I think all of us would love to meet you, And party with you by the fire like dance around the fire with you. My goodness your hair is simply stunning!! And soooooo thick!!! They look like rope twist! 1. I know you said before that your ends look fine overall but since you’ve been natural for so very long do you find that your ends feel and look more fragile than the rest of your hair without product since it is the oldest part of your hair? 2. Also do you find that the older and longer your hair gets, the thinner the ends appear before eventually thickening up later on?? I’ve read that for some people, their hair would sometimes thicken up before dropping in length. 3. Have you noticed any changes in your hair overall during different hair lengths/phases? For example; do you find that when the hair gets to a certain length it seems to grow slower or faster or thicker?
@IndigenousStrandz11
5 жыл бұрын
girl you should b a journalist lol ...... 1 maybe around an half inch to a inch at the end is thinner but not breaking 2 im not fully grasping this question.. but ill try lol the longer my hair gets that half inch to an inch of thin ends remains just that no thicker no thinner 3 my hair grows pretty normal but i do notice now that the longer it gets it still keeps its thickness.... the thing i noticed now is that when it shrinks, it shrinks closer to the bottom which i feel is weird lol

It was absolute hell twisting my hair back and I did get a good amount of shedding but not an overly excessive amount of shedding I was so annoyed by my hair I could not even turn the camera on lol and no you're not doing anything wrong the majority of the time I am detangling because my hair is so long and it shrinks up so quick it's a constant battle but I just push through it and it's kind of therapeutic

Hey there indigenous strands! I've been wondering for a while now how to use up the excess flax gel over the weeks. You along with other youtubers tend to make a lot of gel but only utilize a bit and store the rest. Given you only gel your ends what do you use the rest of your gel for? How do you store your gel, use and reuse? Thanks ahead of time!😊 and great observation of geling dry hair. Never thought of it and think I'll give it a go!

Absolutely beautiful. I hope my hair can grow that long one day. I did several big chops in the last couple of years due to alopecia. But this time around I’ve left it alone and the bald spots have grown in and the hair is continuing to grow. I just find it hard to maintain the two strand twists with short hair.
@IndigenousStrandz11

Thank you and yes your hair will grow as long as you desire to be setbacks happen just keep pushing through them and yes two strand twist can be hard to maintain when you have shorter hair the way that I maintain them when my hair was about collarbone length I just pinned them up as best as I could in a very high bun and just made it look cute just added little accessories to it and I literally committed to that same style 4 years

Indigenous Strandz Thanks for the info. My hair just a little past the ear on the sides and just a little past the top of shoulders at the back. I think I would get bored with the same style for 4 years but I think it’s worth it to try and see how long I can maintain the same style.

@IndigenousStrandz11
5 жыл бұрын
Aloe juice and castor oil has always been my staple things it wasn't until a few years ago I start incorporating flaxseed gel and I only use the apple cider vinegar rinse if I feel like my scalp really needs a good cleansing but the years before when I first went natural I tried a brand called Aubrey Organics and I tried conditioner from Trader Joe's but nothing was like a staple of mine
@xtelfolaj
5 жыл бұрын
my hair is thick but i dont know if my strands are as coarse as yours because you twists are more plump. Mini twist are a diaster and i never would do them again, my ends were tangled and "thin" looking because my hair is fine. Im trying your method of twisting, and washing in twist but with my own products. I found my hair responds better when it is in medium twist and i have to do a hanging bantu knot at the ends of my hair. i hate twist on my hair because it doesnt cover the parts so i never wear it down, always in a small bun or cap. But i definitely need to try the aloe vera juice, oil, and flaxseed. I tried flaxseed gel in the past as a wash and go and left white residue in my hair. Do you always put it on the ends?
@leospicegirl
5 жыл бұрын
xtel folaj i tried all those products except i use whipped shea butter and it’s a perfect combo. aloe vera juice really helps with easy detangling and moisturizing my hair and scalp and the the flaxseed gel gives great hold and curl definition. i don’t use any store bought hair products i even make my own shampoo and deep conditioner. my hair is thriving
@IndigenousStrandz11
5 жыл бұрын
I think when it comes to washing your hair and twist you really have to make sure that you stretch them afterwards otherwise your hair will tangle especially if you have Type 4 hair bring your twists in a bun is actually really good because it serves as a complete protective hairstyle I never wear my toes down at all! And yes I always put flaxseed gel at the ends of my hair as far as using flaxseed gel for wash and go it will definitely leave residue if you don't put an oil over it because the flaxseed gel hardened so the slightest movement in your hair it will flake
@leospicegirl

Greetings! As far as the size of the twists, over years of natural hair maintenance; both short or lengthy. I realize as an over all suze as you spoke about its all different. But what I did realize is for many, myself and clients I found that a twist that when separated, you the individual would feel once separated one section would be too weak or small to twist alone.😄 I hope that makes sense😂I learned that way I stopped a great deal of fall out, tangles. So not educated on my hair and I have been chemical free since 2007, minus a stint with keratin treatment in 2012. I twisted my hair, few look like litttle juicy twist the rest are rather slim still curly and cute. I notice my hair is is thicker at the roots. The flaxseed works for the ends for sure. I’m still confused as too how I can use the aloe and rice water. I actually mixed it this time. The lavender oil helped the smell. My twists don’t last two weeks what am I doing wrong. I notice the everything creamed together when I twisted my hair, I sprayed with the aloe, lavender rice water mix with the flax seed gel. I got a couple of seeds in it after I strained. I was freaking out I thought the softened seeds were bugs, I kept finding them every where for like two days🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. My entire family has hair down they’re back, my mom is 67 with hair on her back, but she still on that creamy and hair longer than mine. No, I’m lying😔😔😔😔😔but the shrinkage is real. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love your channel. #Tribe🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 yes your hair is supposed to be your crowing glory. So true, I would love that, my son who has recently cut his mane. Used to love the story of Samson.

Indigenous Strandz 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰🥰🥰🥰ok I haven’t rinsed the rice water and aloe out because it didn’t make my hair hard at all. I put it up in a little bun on top of my head at first I was stretching them and pinning them down but I didn’t like how it stretch out the curl. My hair seems to like the aloe and the flax seed a lot. It gives sooooo much slip and detangles without force. I also sleep with a satin bonnet. I am using doo gro stimulating oil along with the oil I brought from napturally85. Her oil is everything and it’s not heavy, I need a heavier oil, so I’m using the doo grow because I’m running low on my black castor oil. You are giving me the courage to just go natural all the way. It’s so true about the flax seed gel and how it really shows the curl pattern I used it from root to ends actually. And during the day unless I am going out they just hang and do there thing, since my shrinkage is crazy they don’t necessarily rub on my shoulders a lot, and when I notice they are loosening up and topping g I pin them up because they make me think somethings crawling on me. My only issue is or hair goal is for your thickness a lot of them are actually rather plump, but some are not. Thank you so much for the reply, keep the wonderful positive vibe my sister. Thank you for any tips and tools you can give me, they will not be wasted. #Tribe🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯

I thank you for sharing your success for the rest of us who are tired of having a million different products. I'm currently at mid back-waist length, but I hope to reach your length soon! Update: this comment was a year ago and I guess I upset some people as I didn’t use proper KZitem etiquette. My apologies.

Thank you for sharing your great hair tips!! You share simply hair health by example which is much appreciated and is needed for natural overall living so for that, I pray that you continue your great videos on hair as you are a joy to watch. One thing I must say though...the way you started your channel, that’s what drew like-minded individuals that share commonalities. No offense, but think about why you chose your stance on not getting on the “hair product” bandwagon and apply it to what you are opening up next for your channel. I see many content creators start their channel one way then veer off to something else unrecognizable. I can only assume from some of your decor and your statements that you made regarding spirituality that you may share your spiritual beliefs in a future video, but please keep in mind that those on your channel may be impressionable but remember there is only one Elohim who created everything and we must be clear on who we should serve...the Creator, and not any of the creations or other gods. Not saying you are but the same way I am receiving where you are going with this, someone unlearned may be sent down a broad and left path. So in love, please take care and take much thought. May Yah continue to bless you abundantly!

Thank you.... Mmm.... My spiritual journey started when i was 5 years old... Yes 5... Most people dont start it till way later in life... The creator of life i breath is that of God.. My spiritual belief is another story.. Its what gives my life meaning, its how im able to receive devine message, its how connect to my higher self.. Me sharing my spiritual journey shouldn't have any effect on anyone else's life.. Because its mines.. Now will it enlighten or make people want to evolve their self? Maybe.. Because at one point all of us came from a point where we were unaware, intill we were... My husband escaped the filling fields of Cambodia, he is Buddhist, which is why i have Buddha in my home.. But even before him i had buddha in my home... I was raised to embrace culture if everyone and respect it.. Teaching our daughter her culture is opening her up to receive spirituality and guidance from her ancestors and building a foundation... Im not here to debate on gods but in many cultures more than one god exist.. And if it has been that for these cultural beliefs for thousands of years who am i to judge?

Indigenous Strandz I understand totally and that explains a lot. I agree that it is not up to us to judge ourselves or anyone else as that is only for Elohim to do according to His laws, statutes and commandments. When it comes to our little ones (who have many questions) it definitely is our job to guide and teach them the right way in all things as we all have a purpose, a testimony and a path in life. Be well and, again, many thanks for sharing your hair wisdom and also a bit of your background. Maybe we will have an opportunity to chat in the future, until then, I can only give you what was given to me...an unseen, Holy Spirited reminder to always share life. Take care 🥰
