Thx you so much for sharing this video. I just had similar scenario state #305, #439 and logically #516 at the end. Based on your findings I tried to repair my Danish Fronius IG Plus 60 V2 inverter with luck 👍 Had to dismantle the full top unit and use alot of heat from my soldering tool but at the end replaced the relays with RECOY L90AS-12W - I also used 1.5mm2 wire for the 30A connection. The factory relays are worn out fast. First time before warranty was due. This time 4 years - so not that good design Fronius. Thx. again for your video 👍

Hello ! Great video ! I have the same problem. How did you find out which relay was broken?

Hello Ronald My Fronius ig plus 60 v-2 has the same problem (Denmark), just want to know. Did you solder the relays out from the front, without removing the board? That would help a lot on this job, and will do like you, solder relays to wire for easy access. Thanks for the video 🇩🇰 👍

Hey Ronald, great video. My fault was actually State 457 but Fronius UK in Milton Keynes reckoned it was the same relay but get this- they wanted £574.80 for me to send the board back to them and a guy on a soldering iron for 10 mins to do just what you have. Its criminal plus as you say it looks like a design flaw and maybe this stuff getting out there will affect their sales and they may be a bit more customer services facing. ATB mike bott

Great job, Ronald... Thanks again for fixing my inverter, and now I am curious what Fronius itself as to say about this, note: both the inverters are running for just about 2 years, and they just fallen out off warranty , says Fronius :-( ..... I myself find that a bit odd for such a expensive piece of equipement... I wonder iff there are more users out there with the same problem....??? Please guys throw in some comments...

Seems like I have the same problem with my IG Plus 120-v3. Started to occur in January 2020 but only in cold weather, no problems during the entire year of 2020. Now in January of 2021 it is starting over again. Oddly, after some time time in error state 439 it eventually fires up again after a couple of hours. How do I know for sure that the relays are the cause of the problem?? Did you say the LED at the faulty relay was RED instead of GREEN? Thanks for your answer and greetings from Germany

there are 3 leds around the relays. One of these leds turn red if there is an issue with the mains power (ie a broken relay). What I noticed is that the bottom board also shows a red led, but that is maybe because the bottom board is the "master" board and the other 2 are "slaves"

also with bad relays they will work after a few tries because of the spark when they close. the spark can "glue" the contacts temporarily. In this case the relay becomes unreliable and will need replacement in the long run

It looks like mine have the same problem. I know it frome the start since it is clicking so many times at startup. The relay will burn out eventually. Mine was installed in Feb. 2013

Hi Ronald, were the relays soldered in?
@rvwoens
3 жыл бұрын
orignally they are soldered in, and its a bit of work to pry them loose. Eventually I was able to get it out by heating up each of the 4 pins one by one with a screwdriver under the relay. Heating one pin at a time on and on and you feel that the screwdriver moves the relay a bit. Keep rotating heating a pin until the relay comes out.

same code error in fronius ig plus 150. can this inverter will fixed by replacing the relays?

I don't know. The 439 seems to be a generic error code. Check if the leds near the relays turn red.

Great video! My system suffers from the same malfunction. Tried to order via your links - no luck. Anybody who knows where to find alternative relays?

basically you can search for coil:12VDC switch: 30A 240VAC/277VAC SPST-NO relays, so for instance mouser: nl.mouser.com/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity-PB/T9AV1L12-12?qs=iJVBkmKXgrkeud%252BvgIR%252Bww%3D%3D or Farnell nl.farnell.com/imo-precision-controls/srga-1a-sl-12vdc/relay-spst-no-240vac-28vdc-30a/dp/1094076

Hi How thick are the cables that you are using on the circuit board. 1,5 mm2 or 2,5mm2 Kind regards Lars Schau

2,5mm2 are too thick. I used 1.5mm2 for the power side. Of course you can also solder the new relay on the board but when it needs to be replaced for the second time the replacement is much harder
