Excellent instructions. My first time knitting on circular needles although I'm an experienced knitter for many years. I have a Workbasket book with a sweater that had a mistake when dividing for front and back. You solved the problem. Many thanks, Elizabeth Zimmerman

I have a question about the back side. Once you're done the front side how do you continue knitting the back? do you just thread the needle back through? where do you get the working yarn from? Thanks for your help!!

Hi! I show the whole process of getting started with the back in this video (I'll paste link below) - I think it should answer all of your questions! :) kzitem.info/news/bejne/mHl4lqSOe39_bKw

Hello, is it normal that the sides become a bit loose as you start working the front section? Is it something that can be fixed later?

Yes definitely! I did a follow-up video to this one where I show how I weave in ends. In this link I've forwarded to the part specific about the underarms and how to cinch up any looseness: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pa1u0X-aqGupo4Isi=W3Lw0cMEqBLGJHIz&t=430 Hope that helps!

Can you use this technique too for the Low-key top?

Low-key has armhole shaping so it's worked a little differently. It's more similar to how my Brookdale Vest underarm is worked, so if you would like a visual you can check out that video tutorial: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pWeDzYSOaaR3lH4 Hope that helps!

Thanks! Can this be used on straight needles (aka not in the round)? I am pretty new and trying to figure out how to split it into two working from bottom up (trying to make a cardigan)

Once you split the Front and Back and are working back and forth, you could work on straight needles but the stitches may be very bunched up - working on a circular is easier because of the number of stitches you'll likely have (if it's an adult sweater). I hope that helps!

Great video!!! Question, what if you're knitting a pattern sweater? How do you knit the wrong side? I'm working on the starfish and kelp gansy , free on ravelry, and am stuck because the at the separate the front and back part, the right side is fine to knit but the wrong side... how do you knit cables and pattern sequences on the wrong side?

I'm so glad you found this video helpful! To answer your question about that other pattern, if you're switching from in the round to flat and there is a pattern sequence, typically on the next row it will tell you how to work those stitches differently. Or, if it doesn't, it should show it in a chart. I wonder if there is a "flat" chart in the back of the pattern that shows you how the stitch pattern should be worked? Or some patterns will list the stitch pattern details at the beginning of the pattern (and they'll list them in both "in the round" as well as "flat". I hope maybe this info is helpful!
