Change your own Brake Pads! Video has no commentary, just me wrenching on me bike. (turn on CC for annotations)
This should cover all versions of the CBR600 F2 series (91-94).
Pads are cheap, get them on Amazon.
Tools:
Rachet, 12mm socket, flathead, 5mm allen, Channel Locks Hammer, Patience.
In order of appearance:
Remove covers to Pad Retainers (Flathead, lots of patience, Hammer, maybe even a helper).
Break Pad Retainers loose. (Rachet, 5mm allen head socket).
Remove caliper bracket bolts. (Rachet, 12mm socket, Breaker Bar??)
Back out brake cylinder. (Channel locks/Brake Cylinder tool?)
Remove Brake Pad Retainers.(5mm Allen Head)
Remove Brake Pads.
Install new Brake Pads.
Install Brake Pad Retainers. (5mm Allen Head) you will need to push the brake pads down to align the holes.
Spread Pads out as wide as possible. (flathead, fingers)
Remount the assembly on the Bike, Start with the leading edge (furthest from the bolts) and slide 'er home.
Mount Caliper Bolts. (Rachet, 12mm socket)
Tighten Brake Pad Retainers. (Rachet, 5mm Allen Head Socket)
Tighten Caliper Bracket Bolts.(Rachet, 12mm Socket)
Install and tighten Brake Pad retainer caps.( Flathead)
Optional (or not, depending on how anal you are) Torque everything: 12mm Bolts = 20ft lb, Pad Retainers = 13ft lb, Covers= 2.2 ft lb!
Pump the brake, ride on (keep it sticky side down).
