Hey boss man could you make a video on how to remove the rear subframe on an s2000? Ive researched so much forums and they dont provide enough information. I need to replace my gas tank as theres so much rust and corrossion in there that ive went thru about 2 fuel strainers already and clogging it up and leaving me stranded 😂

I installed this over the weekend but it looks like it’s machined too short. My bushings are sitting on the bends rather than the straight part of the bar. Pretty disappointed with the fitment.

Paper that (approximately) gives bar rates: s2000.club/OM/Characterization_of_Honda_S2000_OE_Springs_rev1a.pdf Its hard to find info from some manufacturers (Sakebomb for example), this is best reference I know of.

Isn’t it advisable to tighten everything once the suspension is loaded up? Or no because coilovers were not touched?
@DIYGuysvideo
2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t matter for the swaybars since they won’t be under load when the car is sitting on the ground. They are only under load when you’re driving through a corner

Umm so you say newer bushings are harder than the original ones but I’m here to say FUCK NO, the original bushings are stretched out from being used for so long that when you try putting them back into the bracket mounted into the car they barely fit or in my case, the driver side bushing is warped and isn’t letting the top outer bracket mount straight and line up with the bolt holes. So if you’re like me that bought a used sway bar off someone I’d recommend buying some new bushings to go along with your new set up.

the s2000 is like one of the few cars that on every forum say stock is legit, but can't ever go wrong with a dope mod. Also your videos are exactly the way we want install videos to go

Agreed on stock is durable and reliable but there’s a ton of better genuine aftermarket parts out there on the market. Mostly made in Japan

Yeah very common thing with s2ki and a few ppl on Reddit, I forgot what question I had about coilovers and someone said “is there something wrong with your current suspension” and then on Reddit I asked whats a good affordable sway bar and same thing “whats the purpose of replacing them”… ugh

I recently replaced my sway bar end links, after 20 years and a quarter million miles, the lock nut was stuck on so thoroughly that I ended up rounding off the allen slot. I had to use vice grips to keep the pin from rotating, and the locknut had so much friction against the threads that it got hot to the touch after finally removing it.
@W33lhop

Nice. Pretty sure there's another counter hold on the ball joint side of the end link which should allow you to use a torque wrench if you so desire

@dawston.

The stiffer the front/softer the rear, the more oversteer. A rear sway would better help correcting with oversteer
@mrchowcolate
Жыл бұрын
@@dawston. This is the exact opposite of what will happen. Not sure if you're joking, but a stiffer rear sway will cause more oversteer
@alejandroochoa3541
Жыл бұрын
@@dawston. the point of the sway bar is to reduce the suspension compressing on cornering. The thicker, the more force it takes for your suspension to compress and give maximum grip. meaning the car is less “planted” so on cornering, it produces under steer. This combats excessive oversteer that a squared setup brings. It’s all about balancing. Making the front suspension harder to compress just means the rear is less likely to give (many variables at play)
