@edzgarage I don't know the tool #, but I use it at work doing these u-joints quite often and know how much of a chore they are to do, its great you actually use trucks power steering to pop out the hub.

@HDtechnician Anti seize is so it wont rust... it doesn't loosen it in any way. If torqued correctly, the stud will never loosen, even with anti seize.

@maas424 The rotor and bearing come off as one unit if the 4 bolts are out. The bearing is probably rusted to the hub. I had to hit it really hard to get it off. You could soak it with PB blaster and heat it with a torch. The rotor and bearing come apart by pounding the wheel studs out once you get the bearing rotor assembly off the truck. Good luck.

@3ARANCH I'm not sure if this is different or not. It should be pretty close though. Make sure you have both front tires off the ground if you want it to turn by hand.

@khane9944 Looks like on the 04 the rotor should come right off once the tire and caliper are removed. You don't need to remove the bolts in the back or knock out the studs.

Well here's what I got I got the 1/2 tomb dodge with a 360. Well sometimes when I go to put it in 4 hi the front did doesn't want to lock in it makes this loud clunking sound when it does engage finally I'm hoping all it is is just low diff fluid in the front differential. The front end sound like a differential should it doesn't make any odd sounds other then road noise. I replaced the front axle vacuum motor and the vacuum switch on the transfer case. I'm lost for words on what it can be.

@matt5421 - you should stay away from the greasable u joints if you use your rig for anything other than highway driving. They cross drill two holes in the middle of the joint to allow the grease to reach the bearings but in doing so, they weaken the u joint. Stick with Dana/Spicer also, I just picked up mine for around $40. The standard joints are pre-greased and sealed. Just my 2 cents on greasable u-joints.

Got the rotor off. Used an 8" puller. It just slides over the hub. As for the hub, i think it's the same as your 96. Sounds like it was a major pain trying to get it off of the steering knuckle. Your video was a great help. I was a little hesitant to try it myself, but after watching your vid it's actually not so bad.. . There doesn't seem to be enough videos of the 2500 series, they all seem to be of the 1500. Keep them coming if you can. I think i may have saved myself a bazillion dollars.

Just a little tip, snap on makes a great tool to pop out the hub bearing with out damaging anything, or having to use a hammer. Also if you have a vise it makes it alot easier to hammer out the joints, and sadly hammering is the only way I have figured out to get the joiunts out.
