Thank you so much for the shoutout. Another great video! These are all great tips. These little details show that care was taken when the wheel was built. Especially with used components.

Nice build mate. I’m looking forward to you doing the rear wheel next. This is where I find myself, I need a new back wheel for my old Cannondale F1000.

I have built the rear today. I just need to do a few things with the video before posting tomorrow, however mate I tried to base the next video for the rear wheel on. Building the tension, stress checks, dishing, and so on. You will definitely get a few helpful tips. I did a video about a month ago called how to build a wheel at home the easy way. That should be easy to follow. Drop me a message if you get stuck at anypoint though mate. Cannondale f1000 are an epic bike, I used to have like an orange one with a fat headshox on it. Wish I still had that bike 👍

I’ve only built 4 wheels so far. You just taught me a different way to lace them up, and the spoke guide is very useful. Also, I’m all about the Sturmey Archer 3 speed.

Cheers mate 👍 I'll make the sturmey archer happen. I want to crack on with the rear tomorrow so I can get the specialised finished again 🤣 looking forward to the builds that I have been waiting to get on to.

Deffo like to see a sturmy 3 speed vid 👍 watching from the Wirral Cheshire, my favourite bike is my mint original 1976 dawes kingpin folding shopper in bottle green with front and rear wicker baskets 😍 little head turner, it always gets a compliment. Currently building my dream unicorn 20 folding shopper/cargo bike from a 6 speed challenge Holborn from Argos and a gt flatland bmx and some mongoose parts and all painted in a sassy hello kitty/joker theme 😂👌 I live in camo so it looks like I've robbed it off a child 😂👍

Good video, thanks. I love the 517 rims and have built front and back wheel on Shimano xt hubs a few years ago but rims are completely worn now and hard to get hold of. Very light wheels but still strong.

@Willdlans bloody awesome good old Somerset name going back to about 1230. Your ancestors sure travelled far. My grandad had the opportunity to move to Australia back in the 1970s but chose not to. Such a shame.

Once a rim has been used , I never use it a second time . I find some tasks challenging as I am waiting to have an eye operation to my left eye .

I'll reuse it if I know the detention has been done correctly and there is no damage to rim, then it's all good. I hope your eye operation goes well, mate 👍

@robertmcfadyen9156 The 517 rims are very nice and light and look great. 👌 I literally just but some old school lx hubs into the black 717 rims that the ti-glides came out of they are decent. They are for the trek 930. I'll be built on the channel next week. I bet your GT is epic, definitely a brand I want to add to my collection. Currently have a kona and an orange away at the painters and the decals being made. You will like the builds on them 😎

wrong steps but not important if speed of lacing is not important

What do you mean by wrong steps, mate? The wheel was rebuilt as it originally was just on a new rim. Are you talking about the build method? Cheers
@makantahi3731

@@BikeShedBoy first you did one side of the wheel (half the spokes) and then you started the other side, but you pushed the spokes from the wrong side, you should have turned the wheel and done everything the same as when you did the first side, otherwise later you have a problem with the spokes pulling through, which slows down the work, but in the end the same result is obtained. I usually assemble the wheel in 13 minutes and truing in 17 minutes, a total of half an hour,
@BikeShedBoy

@makantahi3731 now I understand what you mean. I just find it very easy that way so I don't have to fight with the spokes as much as some other methods. 👍
