That guy was 100% trying to hurt her. You do *not* go fast with a beginner, especially one smaller and weaker than you. But this is not just going to fast, he would have had to put real, aggressive, intentional force to break a bone like that. I am not certain that the guy intended to specifically break her arm, but he absolutely intended to make her feel small, weak, helpless and hurt, and decided to actually attack her. The only time I was ever hurt at all when I was a beginner practicing martial arts was when one of the more advanced students and I got distracted by something, and he accidentally hit me pretty hard on the jaw. Enough that I probably got a micro concussion and saw stars/got dizzy. I would have been able to step out of the hit, but I also was distracted. The look of absolute horror on his face when he hit me immediately made it obvious it was an accident, and he spent the next few minutes profusely apologizing. And I am a man who was the same size as him. The difference is stark.

I feel like story’s like this is part of why America ( where I’m from and I assume is where these people are from.) needs to do better when it comes to paid leave for family’s. We need better paid maternity leave at most businesses and paid time off for the Dad too. I took about 6 months off work after having our baby. My work helped me save up my PTO and o was part of a paid leave pool. I work for a nonprofit and if your part of the paid leave pool people who have a lot of PTO that they don’t use can donate their PTO for you. I am blessed to work for a tremendous company with amazing staff some of which didn’t even know me. My husband works for target distribution center and though the pay is pretty good I think they could treat their employees a lot better. If the nonprofit I work for can give everyone a gift card for Christmas and other bonuses than certainly a rich ass company like target could do better however the thing they did that I most definitely loved was give my husband a month of paternity leave. They obviously give the women having the baby more time off but generally they give the Dad atleast a month. If they have enough PTO saved up they can take more time but unfortunately my husband was only able to take off an extra week after the month was over. I’m so grateful that he got to be there for that month it was magical. Unfortunately when he went back to work he had to work overtime due to the season so he was working three 12 hour shifts and two 10 hours shifts not including drive time. He still helped whenever he could but we definitely missed him because we went from seeing him everyday to barely at all. I hope my long ramblings make sense.

I completely disagree. This woman completely lacks empathy. There are a lot of factors here. Yes the husband can meal prep, but she can’t even get out of bed to fix it for herself or her toddler. Our economy is absolute garbage he may not be able to AFFORD to take off more time or to hire someone Also why are we acting like ANYWHERE cares about fathers?! They don’t allow them to take postpartum time off and if so it’s usually unpaid. Automatically assuming this husband isn’t doing anything and everything in his power when he’s home to come help his wife is absurd I fully agree if she’s up doing things go help this poor woman, they might NOT have any other friends or family near by! Take the 4 year old to go hang out with the 5 year old and help out dude. It takes absolutely NOTHING to be an empathetic person.

For story one, I have taken multiple jujitsu classes with friends, in friends homes, and at gyms. I myself have rolled around on the mat with people who are black belts, blue belts, and brown belts… breaking someone’s arm is so beyond reckless and careless that it should’ve never even happened. That is a very serious injury, and the higher belts are supposed to be more knowledgeable about how to avoid injuries. When I have sparred with someone who is a higher belt, like a blue or a black belt, they go very very slow, we do the same move multiple times over and over so I can get the feel, and I know how to defend myself and how to push myself out of the space where I can get injured. And then even when we do it fast, it’s after I feel confident with the move, and after I have shown that I know what I’m doing to defend myself. But the higher belts are still always careful to never go full force and to never be overly zealous with the lower belts. This should not have happened, and their gym needs some serious evaluations. The girlfriend should sue honestly because that injury DEFINITELY could have been avoided. What a poor example of sportsmanship and integrity.

Folding a 25lb weighted blanket doesn’t make it 50lbs. No matter how you fold it the entire blanket itself only weight 25lbs (not 25lbs per each fold or per square foot, etc.). But folding it will make it feel like a bit more weight on the dog depending on how she placed it. For example, instead of only feeling 10lbs of the blanket, the dog could feel 20lbs since more of the blanket is then covering the dog. It’s hard to tell what really caused the dogs death though because applying weight to the diaphragm could make it harder to breath but that dosage of gabapentin does sound high, especially given every 2 hours… it’s usually given every 8-12 hours for dogs. I worked as a vet tech for a while and the vets never prescribed that much gaba to a dog of that size and at that frequency… I almost wonder if OP misunderstood the vets instructions. Also, side note. When people get their pets cremated or even choose not to pick up the body, either way the pets have to go into a freezer for at least a week before cremation or disposal (hate that word, but that’s what happens if the owner doesn’t want the body back).

Thank you; as a pharmacy tech (currently at a compounding pharmacy that fills a lot of animal scripts but I’ve worked retail before too) I thought 200MG then another 200mg TWO hours later sounded insane even for a person. Gabapentin isn’t usually prescribed to take that close together; maybe twice daily, 3 times daily, four times daily in low doses for humans for seizures but I’ve never heard of “in 2 hours” spent for neuropathy. I almost think she never put a weighted blanket on the dog and either he misread the directions or whoever filled/wrote the script misread/miswrote the script as “q2h” instead of “q12h”. A weighted blanket sounds like an easy way to blame the girlfriend instead of veterinary malpractice…

I was a female on a men's wrestling team. It's not weird for men and women to compete in contact sports. It isn't okay to go that rough on a newbie no matter the gender. Weight classes were enforced so we wouldn't be in this big of a strength difference. However, we'd never do this to someone who was less skilled. The more skilled wrestlers would teach younger while knowing to back off on the force of their moves. I knew how to break people's bones they taught us what moves would do that so we knew how to not do it. Knowing enough about contact sports and arm bars this guy might not have intended to break her arm but he intended to "hurt" her. He was proving some sick point.

Story 1: I have so many things to say, I do BJJ, and as a woman, first of all it's HARD because guys will either go too hard or too easy on you because they're scared. Women only classes are there for a reason! It's a huge red flag to me when a gym doesn't have a lot of women training or they leave. The guy who broke the gf's arm knew exactly what he was doing. No one ever rolls that hard in class, or even in competition. I don't want to get hurt or hurt others, so when you get to that point, you put a submission on slowly, so they can tap. The fact that this happened in class is really bad, especially BREAKING her arm. Also, the fact that this guy is talking about the lineage so much makes me think something about it is fake or its just full of dbags. The lineage is basically who gave his instructor his black belt, who gave that guy their black belt, and so on, up to the original guys who started BJJ.

Omg something I’m knowledgeable on!! It’s specified as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is because there’s also JJ - Jujutsu, which is Japanese. There are a few families that are prominent in BJJ, so maybe that’s what he means? That’s the ONLY thing I will defend op on though. I took BJJ for a few years, also got to blue belt. I was 15-17, 115 pounds soaking wet and the only girl there was everyone had at LEAST 50 pounds on me. I never had an injury, because no one wanted to hurt me. They never took it easy on me, mind, but they were throwing me around like a rag doll. That’s the only way to learn! BJJ may be a contact sport, but it’s not a raw strength sport. It’s about being dexterous, using good grips on your opponent, being quick, and most importantly being *smart*. Fuck those guys, honestly. My instructor would have thrown that blue belt out immediately if he broke anyone’s arm, much less a white belt!

That first guy is such a creep. He DEFINITELY got off on the fact that he was “teaching” a woman a “lesson”. If he’s so good at JJ then he should know how to tap out. It sounds like he either liked the idea of hurting a woman or wanted to show her how big and scary men are. He knew what he was doing, no doubt

For the women who had the new born. I’m shook she was up walking around. I was blessed that people from my church provided me with a home cooked meal for the first 3 weeks. And the night we got out of the hospital my husband cousin had the crockpot going with food for us. We even had people create frozen meals and give us dine-in delivery gift cards. I did not cook for a solid month because we were so taken care of. No one expected me to travel to see them no one just dropped by unannounced. It blows my mind that some people act like “oh it’s just giving birth.” Everyone even handles it differently. Some have postpartum depression or anxiety. Some have a harder time healing or stitches came open. Definitely do not expect anything but the mama chilling with her baby in bed for a while lol

OMG YES. OP’s feelings are definitely valid but she shouldn’t be shouting at them. Cutting her father off for finding new love after having lost it and gone thru that pain is unjust. And in truth we all die alone, however I understand the symbolism behind getting buried together, it’s the love they had for each other. OP has to realize that she is the greatest symbol of her mother and father’s love and that her mother is always with her.

I was honestly kind of shocked by this episode. Usually, Morgan is very egalitarian in her thinking and can admit that people of any gender can do wrong. However, this episode was covered in sexism skewed in favor of women, largely pushed by Michaela. I really struggled with this episode. I do recognize that this is not Morgan’s fault, since she wanted to have a fun time with the guests, so some chameleon behavior is normal. But it especially came through with the “it’s hard to admit women are wrong” comment from Michaela and her handling of the entire dog story. The start of their thoughts were fine and reasonable, but as soon as she heard that the girlfriend had the dog cremated, she discounted everything she said prior simply because she couldn’t fathom that anyone can take a dead animal to get cremated. Ignorance is okay and easily remedied, but falling back on her own admitted sexism is mildly upsetting. Morgan and Ellie tried to throw her lifelines with the fact that the folded weighted blanket that is nearly the same weight as the dog it was placed on might crush it, or given the fact that it could be “a slope of bad things happening”, she found it “hard to admit” it might be the girlfriend’s fault. This is the most obvious example, but it’s spread all throughout this episode. If these stories were presented without genders, I have a hard time believing it would have happened the same way.

She cares so much about their point of veiw and honestly and if you eat meat in the US or Canada you have likely consumed meat ethically slaughtered through her improved ethical systems!! She even worked with McDonald's with there huge ethicality audits! She does such great work and its important work too. I remember her covering in her book the fact that's she worried about other people coming into her industry and who will follow in her footsteps to continue to ensure our animals are treated with care, respect, and honor. Highly reccomend all her books. Other similar books are The other end of the leash and Dont shoot the dog. Both by different authors. Thanks for the read!! Be kind to your pets! Edit: If farm animals exist and you eat meat, they should atleast live and be slaughtered humanely. As a person who eats meat, these animals are here because of me to a degree so I do care that they are cared for. Its a reality of farming/raising animals for meat.

Sounds like since he's already locked OP down, she gets to be prioritized last... or, as Jonathan Decker (from Cinema Therapy) put it, she gets to be "put in the freezer." The analogy goes like this: you put food in the freezer so they don't spoil while you focus on using other foods, but if you leave them in the freezer too long, it'll still go bad. It's the same for relationships--you can't just keep putting your family relationships "in the freezer" while you prioritize other relationships, then when outside forces dwindle, you can't just hop back into your relationship and expect it to be the same as it was before.

Last story...my mom's mom died when my mom was 14. She was "married" (no actual proof) to this guy John whose previous wife had left him. (He was a douche canoe) He never accepted my mom or her siblings. The way their burial plots were set up were beyond effed up. He had him-ex wife-my grandmother. Yeah...you would think maybe if he actually gave a shit about either of them, he would have been in the middle plot but nope...he put his ex there. This infuriated my mom for years. She wanted my grandmother to be buried with the rest of OUR FAMILY. After 11 years, a shit load of detective work, $12,340.00 & a signed and notarized letter from douche canoe John on the 40th anniversary of my grandmoms passing, I took my mom and her remaining siblings to the cemetery so they could witness their mom behing exhumed, and then transferred to the cemetery with the rest of her kids and her own parents and siblings. Everyone said it couldn't be done. Hell, I had to fly to Canada and go petition court records saying they weren't married there as John claimed. (I live in Pa) I absolutely feel for that poor girl. But maybe since her dad did in fact love her mom and does in fact love his new wife, having him buried between them would be a positive solution for everyone. She shouldn't be left an "orphan" over thus. If that's NOT an option...it's much easier to move someone's grave without all the hoops I had to jump through. Not to sound crass but they'll be dead. The daughter can probably just rearrange them. 🤷♀️ No matter what, I wish her the best. ❤

36:56 I don’t know, I have a 5lb chihuahua and he routinely sleeps under our weighted blanket (25lb queen size), and happily burrows under it when it’s folded on our bed.

I do Brazilian jiu jitsu too!! It’s hard yes you can hurt at times. The guy that broke the girls arm is in the wrong. Your never supposed to hurt your training partners. I’m sorry that happened.

It cost HUNDREDS to get a necropsy (animal autopsy). Also FEW places do it in my state only 3 places in the whole state do it. Most vets dont want to waste their time with this. Because a lot of times you cant tell what happened and people get mad and then want drug test and blood test done which might reveal more but those are HUNDREDS MORE. And also depending on how long the body has been dead determines what you can even test for.

When we die, the energy stored in our bodies stays in our bodies until it decomposes and is redistributed into the environment to nurture more life. I think that's pretty great too.

For the 5th story I think they should break up because although he loves her she should love her self more to not allow people to do to her what she wouldn’t do to others! Even if he “didn’t take the bet seriously” he should of told her the moment he realized they were friends or when the friend started bringing up the bet again but he didn’t so he’s also capable of lying… idk that’s my take but I wouldn’t date someone of a bet so why would I allow someone to do that to me

Useless husbands story: My grandma always told us "you can only find the good weather friends when it starts to rain." Her and grandpa met in the war and he fought a Nazi who tried to grab her so she knew he'd support her in bad times. They married at 19 and happily stayed together for life.

Story 2 is craaaaaaazy. Caring for a newborn, let alone a newborn and a toddler, is nonstop work. You don’t have time or energy to take care of yourself or your home, let alone someone else & their home. It’s absolutely INSANE that the husbands has this discussion over a joint THE DAY the other wife & baby came home from the hospital. I know OP said she had a much easier birth, but there’s nothing easy about birth or recovery. OP is only a week postpartum and should be spending as much time in bed and resting as she possibly can. Both of those husbands should be ashamed for doing literally nothing while asking a healing postpartum woman to take on an entire households extra work & the mental health of another woman.
