Dade, I just stumbled across this video and then checked out a couple more of yours. I am sitting here with a HUGE smile on my face! I am so HAPPY for you! You are such a courageous and positive young man. That inspires me. I counsel kids with drug and alcohol problems, many of which are related to self-image perceptions. If they watched your videos, they would learn a very positive attitude in conquering those. Your insight into your own dysphoria will bring you peace. Thank you!

Poor past Dade. I'm sorry but I laughed so hard when you were talking about the nurse. "You're barely holdin' on." I'm going to have to remember that when I eventually head down this path. You're the first person I've heard mention bladder spasms most people just mention the gas. I'm like you when it comes to business down below, luckily my top surgeon didn't insist I have a catheter. It's nice to see you're doing well and I hope the rest of your recovery is speedy and complication free!

I started testosterone injections immediately after surgery to avoid resistance istrogonon that usually happens. I see all your videos and I wanted to tell you that you have helped me tremendously on my journey. Thank you for doing all this effort and you were honest to all the problems you faced so far.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing well, post-op. As a cis woman who had a hysterectomy to treat uterine cancer, I was in So. Much. Pain. for weeks. I had the bladder spasms too. And then I had bad scarring and that led to pain for years. I wouldn't have wished my recovery on anyone - let alone you! So, thank goodness it went well for you. Congratulations on getting through this next steps on your journey. Best wishes!

Glad to see everything went well for you Dade, but your really do need to heed that nurse's advice. I had a prostatectomy via open surgery as I was not a candidate for the laproscopic procedure and had a Foley catheter for about three weeks and it was not fun...collection bag on the leg, etc., etc.. Also not fun after they removed the Foley because it was difficult to pee. Congrats.....another milestone passed in your journey. Take care..

My doc told me out of the 3 surgeries she did that week that I was the hardest but recovered the fastest. My organs were small and mishaped. Just in case they didn't tell you, at about 2 weeks or so you may get some bleeding simply because of the internal swelling going down. However it shouldn't be a lot. Resting is very good. I had the catheter because for me it was easier than dealing with the bladder thing. Good luck my brother. Alex

@lost4ever888

Last thing that may happen is, the inside incision, where the cervix was, will shed it's dead cells. When this happens you will have weird type of debris that will look like light brownish, dead skin. This is normal and will take about 2 weeks to shed away. Clean the inside after a week just with warm water. My lap hysto went very smooth. I didn't have spasms. Sorry if I was too graphic. I just thought i would let you know so you didn't think your incisions were falling out or something. :)
@sethjamison1

Bladder does get knocked around during that surgery. Could take a few months to heal. The nurse is right. The inside takes at least 6-8 weeks so take it slow. It is usually the anesthesia that takes awhile to recover from. You may have strength and notice that you fade toward the afternoon. Rest and restore keep going bro. Good for you.

Painful urinating is really stressful for me, too. From right after I gave birth and for a few days after that, the horrific pain I felt during urination was *so much worse* than pregnancy dysphoria or labor pains. I couldn't believe it! If labor pain was a 4, peeing after the fact was a 10.
