HI! I know I'm a little late but has the stock esc held up using the 380 motors and upgraded servos? I'd like to upgrade them both but don't wanna replace the esc.
@Pezzapoo

the ESC is fine but I wouldn't bother switching the motors, it made little difrence as the ESC is the thing that stals out on power it seems

Damn! I thought I was doing well when I chopped 17mm of the bottom of the chassis! Now I'll have to hack some more! I put my batteries on the front servo just using velcro. Seems to work ok. Heh, I had way more "flex" after I added some damper to axle mount extenders, to allow the dampers to clear the motor casing. But, ironically I ended up with wayyyy to much flex! So the Ravine would easily tip over when the axle went to a silly place. So just I added zip ties onto the chassis where the links come close to it. More zip ties equals less flex!

I love how there are so many ways to mod ravines and get creative. Sounds like you are having fun either way )

@@Pezzapoo Yep yep, The Ravine was so cheap it was rude not to buy one and mod it. (Ahem, I have two more still in boxes at the mo! 😅)

@@Pezzapoo this i what i like about the ravine aside from how well it works, there is no real upgrades for it, which makes people who see potential through mods get creative

You just raised the cg too while you were hacking away at that.

Well, the weight of an esc is hardly going to make much difference whereas the gain in clearance is a clear performance factor. In further vids I lower the whole vehicle for LCG due to this mod so take a look at those for more of me ‘hacking away’ unless you’re just happy with it stock? In which case don’t bother. Thx for watching

@@Pezzapoo you also raised the overall cg of the links since now they terminate "30mm" higher too... may seem minor but so is the need to do this mod.

Some nice mods. Picked one up today with an eye on modding it. (First crawler and years since I last touched RC) Trying to find info on wheel spacers which is how I ended up here. Are they an off the shelf item? Regretting selling my lathes now.
@Pezzapoo

The spacers are just standard mate, mine are 15mm. Its an amazing rig with just a few mods, most of which are free

@@Pezzapoo found em just after posting. Difficult when your not sure of the wording. Enjoying my first experience of it. The wheels fouling the links is a pita but easily solved. New servos are a must and soon. Looks like I might have found a small lathe too. If you can't find metal components make em. :)
