In summer 2013 I visited Fuji-Q Highland (富士急ハイランド) in the Japanese city Fujiyoshida at the foot of Mount Fuji. The amusement park is known for the concentration of record breaking roller coasters. Fujiyama (フジヤマ), a 79 m (259 ft) tall steel roller coaster, was the world's tallest roller coaster. Dodonpa (ドドンパ), a roller coaster with a compressed air launch, opened with the world's fastest acceleration reaching a top speed of 172 km/h (106.9 mph) in 1.8 seconds. Eejanaika (ええじゃないか), a fourth dimension roller coaster, broke the world record with 14 implemented inversions during the ride. Takabisha (高飛車), a launch and chain lift roller coaster, opened as the world's steepest roller coaster with a drop of 121 degrees.
