It is good to hear that your 23 mm F/2 lens has good auto focus. How new of lens is it? I have been watching Denae & Andrew ( think that is right) channel and many of his reviews of that lens has mentioned the lack of sharpness when close-up. @@impatrickt Any arguments? In appearance, the X-S10 most closely resembles the amateur X-T200 model. The retro design is still noticeable, but we will not find the dials characteristic of e.g. the X-Pro series of shutter speeds, ISO sensitivity or exposure compensation. The case is similar with the handle - this element was usually modest in the Fufujilm mirrorless cameras (the exception was the X-H1). The handle of the X-S10 is much larger, which is easily noticeable, and the camera gives the impression of being quite large. In fact, however, the body is quite compact, which you will feel immediately after taking the camera in your hand. The handle is deep, but the modest height does not allow you to rest the little finger of your right hand on it. Its not AMAZING!! in the X-S10, it was not decided to seal the structure.
@impatrickt

@@spikeweb5193 I’ve used every camera Fuji has made in the last 5 years. The XS10 is the best feeling camera they’ve made. Those retro dials are the worst thing about Fuji and I’m so glad they’re slowing removing them on all models. Xe4, gfx100s etc are much improved.

so nice to see love for Classic Chrome. i bought a used x-t2 earlier this year and got adapters for all my vintage lenses since manual focus is just my preference but i have been looking into getting a native fuji lens. not really sure what to get. torn between the 18-55 kit or the 23mm.

Great review - thanks. 1 year on, would this still be your first choice? Is there something newer you would recommended ( or are you anticipating an upgrade to the X-s10?). I have a Nikon D7500 which I just find too heavy, and I tend to leave it on Auto anyway. I use an 18-200 lens which is great for its range and how compact it is. Will the picture quality be as good with this Fuji as the older Nikon? And your pics from your street photography session all looked great, but generally seemed a little dark ( your head cam gave much brighter images). Was this due to a setting? Thanks again.

@@impatrickt Thanks - interesting. I have been considering the A6400 - the one thing that put me off was lack of image stabilisation - and its still a relatively old camera - and surely an update is due soon (maybe with IS)? What did you get?

Great video, are you bothered by the flippy screen for street photography? I also have an x-t3 and while I am very tempted by the x-s10 with its lighter weight and ibis, I am afraid I will regret the x-t3 screen, do you get used to the flippy screen?

Just bought it as my first mirrorless camera but dang is it heavy! My gawd. I’m seriously thinking of returning it for the Sony a6400 because that is way lighter and weather sealed too. My wife and I mostly just wanted something light and portable for traveling that can still take really nice pics

I found this review SO HELPFUL, liked and subscribed. I am having trouble deciding whether to get the XS10 (with 23mm f2) or X100V for my KZitem + Photography setup. The KZitem side of things isn't super intense (e.g. just talking head and some B-roll) which is why I'm considering the X100V too. I know that you love the XS10 as seen in your "Final Thoughts" but for my situation would you recommend one over the other? May I also ask how you find the minimum focusing distance of the 23mm f2? I tend to do lots of close up shots of small sized products so having a close minimum focus like the fixed lens on the X100V would be ideal.
@impatrickt

I'd take the X-S10 over any camera in Fuji's lineup right now. for real. X100's are fun but they are a novelty camera. an expensive one at that. if you want to have that experience just throw a prime on the X-S10 and you're golden.

Great video! I'm a long distance hiker who's always shot in iPhone. Thinking of upping my camera and getting my first Fujifilm. This one seems like the one to get. Which lens would you recommend? 18-55 or stick with 23mm f2 (the latter is kinda what I'm leaning towards)? I'd use it for 50% shooting photos 50% video + vlog (whilst walking). Thanks in advance!

3 questions (please help me out as I'm considering buying one of these): 1 - Are the pre-amps ok? Same as the XT4? The Pre-amps on the XT200 are really bad and they sound terrible, so it's a concern. 2 - What are you editing on? Did you choose special settings to import to your edit system? I've seen some crazy issues with the 'blacks' on some videos - very pronounced and ugly pixelation (apparently there is a codec issue that needs special treatment in post in the edit.) 3 - How big is this next to the XT200? Anyway, thanks in advance. Cheers, Campbell from NZ.
