Not the same magic as the 56mm 1.2? 😳 Images from the 110mm lens makes my heart flutter. I'm talking rendering, compression and isolation here. The 56mm hasn't managed to do that to me yet. Sharpness and resolving power is just icing on the cake

Not to sound offensive or insulting here just im wondering how in the world can you afford all that gf system stuff? Im not in any way trying to imply anything negative its just that stuff is super expensive. If it were me as much as that lens costs id be guarding that like I had robbed a bank or something. That said i always enjoy seeing the videos you make thank you.

Not at all mate, it's not offensive. I buy a lot of stuff BUT this was way out of my budget and Fujifilm kindly loaned the GFX gear to me. Super cool. And yes, both times I received the GFX stuff I felt I didn't wanna leave the house with it :D

These medium format systems are often rented by photographers for shoots, just like they rent studios and hire models, makeup artists, etc. Buying comes later in the career. It’s not that difficult for a person who is willing work, learn and grow.

Its a lot of savings and breaking your wallet lmao. I usually save or buy gears used and resell it for higher prices than bought and cycle continues. Don't spend something you can't afford or need. Not many people need this kind of camera or quality and they are not realistic for majority of the time. You can be better off with Full-time or crop sensor cameras which are great too.

Sorry, don't understand you saying that this lens does not produce the same kind of magic as an XF 56mm 1.2 at 4.37 in the video. What is different ? I love the 56mm lens. However, I cannot pretend that it compares to the sensational qualities of this lens on a big sensor with better gradations, better colour depth and the quite exceptional combination of sharpness/ bokeh this lens has. Of course it is, pre-eminently, a portrait lens, par excellence. I think you need to try it on the GFX 100 with IBIS or get it on a tripod to see what it is really all about.

Sounds like a plan. I think I was a bit in love with the 56mm, but you are quite right. This is a very special lens.

It’s phenomenal on the Gfx100! No noticeable blurriness! I have used it only handheld even at speeds of 1/80s but try to stay at 1/100 and up.

Love your reviews. Good to hear some love for the old Fuji S5 Pro! I loved the images from that camera, but the resolution was primitive by today's standard. It helped that I was using the Nikon 200 f2.0 on it. Sadly, had to sell it all off during one of life's speed-bumps, but now that I'm an old geezer, I have jumped into the GFX system. I love the GF110. If you have specular lighting, you get a sparkle and snap from the Fuji lenses that remind me of some Leica APO glass. I was immediately reminded of that with my first images from the GFX in similar light! The GF 250 f4 is also a stunning lens if you want that subject isolation and compression. Luckily it also has OIS. And yes, you will run out before the battery, just faster with that beast of a lens.... Jim Kasson did a comparison of the GF 250 vs the Nikon 200 f2.0. He uses highly magnified pixel peeping images to compare resolution, contrast and across the frame sharpness. They really play in the same ball-park. (search "Nikon 200/2 VRI on Z7, Fuji 250/4 on GFX 50R") Naturally, you don't get the light gathering of f2.0 on the Fuji, but due to the format change, f2.8 on the Nikon is close to f4.0 on the Fuji for depth of field, so that is where his testing started. Don't go there looking for pretty pictures, he is just doing very controlled testing. If I have the space available, I actually prefer the 200mm range for portraits. Of course there are times when you have a particularly lovely background that begs to be used, but I am usually trying to eliminate backgrounds. Again, great reviews. I look forward to them!

No OIS at F2? - getchyerself some of the following - a tripod, a monopod, some beefier pecs - I use mine all day long on a Camera Stand with zero need to worry, and if I am out doing fashion work its no bother at all when you have some lights on set...

Hello Damian, can you tell me what is the multiplier that you use to go from this 110mm to the full frame equivalent (you said it’s about eighty something) and is it the same for the f/stop, for instance, if you have an APS-C lens like the XF-35mm f/2, you multiply that times 1.5 would equal a 52mm and f/3
@billzidis2656

-0.71 for the focal and in theory the same to the aperture but only the bokeh,the light transmission is the same
