Thank you for all the wonderful staff for letting me come inside the place to ride the escalators! These are all the escalators at the Halifax Convention Centre in the heart of Downtown Halifax. What an amazing big escalator, wow I was blown away by seeing just how long that thing is that is up 40 seconds long. The long escalator starts off on floor 3 & it goes up to the 5th floor which takes us to the ballroom floor, & after that there is an escalator that goes to the summit level which is the 6th floor. I entered on the Argyle Street entrance which made it easier because there is only 1 escalator that goes down to the 1st floor which is called the convention hall level.
If you’re coming to Halifax, check out these escalators for sure :)
Enjoy!
But I recommend asking first, don’t just walk right in because some employee could say something, they did me when I walked right in, & I didn’t ask first just because I remembered back in May I did go on the big long escalator, no problems at all, but when I went on the 6th floor escalator, as I was going up, an employee was coming down the escalator, said “do you work here?” I said “no I don’t, I just came in to ride the escalator” the employee said “oh no no no no no, you can’t do that” as I was walking down the escalator, so as I went down the escalator, the employee told me that the building is private that we can’t allowed people to walk around the place which I know my mom told me a few years ago. So basically after the employee talked to me, I just left the building (a little disappointed).
So that’s why I contacted one of the staff teammates if I would be allowed to go in to ride the escalators (all of them) they had no problems at all if I came in August 4 between 9am to 10am.
JUST A REMINDER: This building isn’t open to the public, it’s only open if there are events going on (for the most part) so you may not be able to ride this escalator whenever, not like if you go to a shopping mall, because those ones you can do whenever you want.
No asking, no time limits if you decide to ride the escalators at any shopping mall.
Yes I get it, escalators are good friends for when you need to rest your lower body, examples: long days at work, standing all the time, or walking lots of hours in a day.
I wouldn’t want to record an escalator in a building where I can easily get busted my a security guard or a employee that works here, just like what happened in May.
If you do wish to ride this, do so at your own risk.
