As a Pharmacy Student and aspiring cosmetic chemist for 8 years. You did pretty well explaining some topics that can be pretty complex. I was really happy 😁! Nice distinction with naturally versus synthetically derived UV filters, very undiscovered territory.

South Florida curly girl here 🙋🏻♀️ all I can say is after many mistakes I no longer scrunch out my cast ! A nice hard cast holds me up for 4 days without refreshing. Usually my refresh is day 5 with minimal to no effort whatsoever 🙅🏻♀️

I had a photoshoot today (in South Florida) and there was rain in the forecast, so I styled with only the Ouidad stronger hold gel. We went out as soon as the storm passed and, between the heat and the rain, it was a literal sauna outside. When we finished 15 minutes later, sweat was pouring down my back and my face was burning up but not a hair out of place. There was even some cast left. That gel really is a holy grail for humidity.

Every time I have an “odd” hair question I find your videos! You are a lifesaver, I recently concluded that my hair is sun-damaged. I live in Arizona, and getting rid of split ends has been my goal for years! I thought it was from brushing or hard water, but after I experimented I realized it might be the sun 🥸. I'm going to try these products, thank you so much for your effort and research!

Also totally got excited when you said twist has sun protecting ingredients, I own twist products currently due to the recommendation on your channel! New motto "the stronger the hold the better" for this summer and I promise to dry my hair before going out 🖐Always love watching your videos and love the editing with this video

I’ve had the Sun Bum scalp spray on hand for a few years and replaced it when it expired…always keep on hand and especially use on theme park days and car show days when I’m really out in it!!!!! My hair has thinned like so many others and so between being blonde and the widening part…that protection becomes more and more valuable every year! AND it smells awesome. I keep their face mist for re-application on those days as well and it smells delightfully like bananas 🍌

Hi from Australia, I'm taking notes for summer hehe! I have a question.... I have hair that is half way down my back. My hair line has 3b curls but the rest usually looks wavy like a 2b. After straying from cgm after 2 1/2 years thanks to your wonderful guidence. I have done 2 washes and have these rope looking curls mixed in with the waves- botticelli curls I believe? What are they? Is it like a transition curl? And will a layered cut be best for them? (I'm still binge watching your channel so im not sure if you have a video about them or not yet)

Currently using the sunbum curl cream, which that line all has UV protection (yay!) And for MORE protection, I bought the Bumble & Bumble Heat Shield Mist. The Hair Mist doesn't specifically state it has UV protection, but the ingredients list has UV protection in it still. Ik they have the Invisible Oil Heat Protectant, but I still have my Ouai oil and I don't wanna change lol (it smells too good to give up and it just helps smooth the ends of my hair). Trying to branch out with other leave in conditioners, might check out Ouidad, although I wish more drugstore brands made UV protection a part of their stuff. (I try to keep below $20 for haircare, Ouai was my only exception until I found the Bumble Mist. Even then I got the small travel size) My job is outside and the summer sun is hitting, so that's why I was extra and got the spray. I get my ingredient info from incidecoder, it's a neat lil website. I used EWG or EGW, whatever it was but it's just a lot lol

I’m a fellow Florida girl and I find the “potty mouth” parts of her video hilarious. Please don’t take this as sarcasm, @juanitarodriguez2161, as that is not at all how I’m intending this to sound. Mell usually “cuts loose” in the bloopers at the end of her videos, so if her language offends you, maybe stop the video when you get to the very start of the bloopers. Because she keeps her videos clean up until that point. So, to be able to enjoy her tremendous amount of curly girl knowledge, just enjoy her videos up to where the blooper reel begins. When the blooper reel starts, either mute it or stop watching there. For me, I live for the bloopers! And I can’t get to the bloopers fast enough! That’s such a cute way to end her videos and blooper reels are something no one else I follow on KZitem does. I enjoy seeing Mell uncensored. 😊
