We get all our gutter clears on to one day so the van gets set up for the whole day. With gutter clears we use the generator and gutter vac system. The old ladder, bucket and ProGutter still goes in the van to. Also put Fascia Soffits & Gutters (FSG) on these days to.

Just started out in November myself trying to build a 4 day a week round and have Friday sat for additional services. Then I've also got a 2 day buffer each week that I can work to catch up if the van needs to go in the garage or if I need to have a day off for whatever reason. if I'm too busy to do a first clean on a certain day I can add it on the Friday or Saturday then I can add it to whatever day I want it on the round for the next clean (I spend a while on first cleans getting them perfect) I'm thinking of the long term goal instead of short term and I've found it's the best way to do it. Great video mate, been enjoying your channel 👍

Thank you 👍 that sounds a well thought out plan there and i like that idea. I find the first cleans are worth taking your time over. Leaves a great impression and the next cleans are easier as a result. Plus it is a good advertisement of your work. People are always watching and word of mouth is a free way to grow.

@@CrystalCleanWindows definitely mate easy way to push reviews also got quite a few now 20ish. I don't even charge extra for the first cleans I've had customers offer to pay the extra and I refuse just purely to make it easier for reviews & word of mouth. Also gets the customers easier. It's one price no confusion and spend the extra time take a little hit on money use the extra water but then the rest of the cleans you'll use less water and the clean will be a breeze. Simplicity is what customers want the easier it is the less chance they'll want to cancel, skip or even turn the service away. I've even started using the get soapy app purely so my customers can pay using apple pay and Google, bacs, DD or card whatever is easiest for them.

@@EthanCall-fu1pl I didn't charge for first cleans neither for the same reason, I was after a regular customer too. Must admit I do charge a little extra now as my time is valuable because I am so busy, Only do this on windows that are really bad but I do not go to mad for sure. I use Squeegee but it seems very similar to Get Soapy which I did think about giving a go at one point. I like you cover different payment methods as they all have their own preference, but if I had one it would be GoCardless.

@@CrystalCleanWindows oh definitely mate once I'm more established I'll charge a first clean rate and I'll make this known but to be honest I could get away with spending next to no time at all on most first cleans I do but I just like to do the extra to make sure it's spot on. I did charge at first 1.5-2x but some of the houses weren't that dirty so I'd just say forget about it so now I just say no extra for first cleans and just take the hit but once I'm more established like yourself then it's definitely worth it. I didn't get along with the squeegee app myself half of the features are useless and the SMS system was always effin up for me. Get soapy is basic and has everything I need Malcolm is great as well constantly on the phone with him for new features to add he's added a type form integration as well for instant quotes. The only thing I find with gocardless is a lot of people don't like the idea of it I've found some don't care and understand but some just won't have it no clue why. Someone told me why would you funnel customers into one payment option it's more likely to turn people away and loose potential customers but if you offer a variety and it can all be reconciliated (which get soapy is great for because it's all integrated) then people will choose their preferred option and it'll keep everyone happy. I've barely got any admin apart from scheduling work adding new customers and sending text reminders. Squeegee had so many issues for me it was making me work extra time eating into my night when I didn't need to.

@@CrystalCleanWindows luckily enough I'm only 22 and live at home so I've got no overheads apart from van insurance fuel etc so I'm trailing all sorts right now. New payment options, different marketing strategies, I'm also taking my time with building so I can target certain areas for the time it suits me & I'm trailing doing a 8 weekly only round so I can charge a higher rate and hold a larger client base to push additional services to a larger audience. Learning new stuff everyday it's a great little business to be in

I will pass that on to him he will love that, he is away on holiday soon and has brought a new pair. Kids get more time off than me.

Great to see you all. Definitely push the kids to be able to do all the jobs especially the tricky ones as they can build muscles and get a great physique! I guess you could have made the vid a little longer, maybe that helps with views? One tip with genys is try, when ever possible, to fill up with fuel when the geny is cold i.e. at the start of the job. Filling when a geny is hot can be dangerous as the exhaust can ignite spilt fuel.

Ha ha cheers Ched who knows with the kids, jobs may be hard to find and then they will ask to work with me more (handy as i am feeling older). I'll end up getting more work just for them LOL. Just goes to show you can make a living out of it as opposed to a side hustle. Very good point about refilling the genny i am always careful but accidents do happen so good point. I'll see about increasing the video time only one way to learn how to film and work without making the day to long.

I always try and leave the debri with the customer mate. Usually there is a bin for it or a composite in the garden. Not worth taking it away especially when you have a few jobs lined up for the day, no room. Thank you 👍 for watching and what you have said, it will keep me motivated.

Sorry forgot about the camera, it is a camera from Spinaclean called SkyCam, i like it as it has a monitor as opposed to using an action camera and your phone. This way the kids can use it rather than asking to use my phone etc.
