We took this amazing 1 day trip with our guide, Adrian Maha (Instagram: @mexico_experiences) and I fully recommend it, the guys were absolutely amazing, showing us the best of the selected objectives, with superior travel services. And we also had a lot of fun! :D
What the tour covered:
Chichen Itza - which means ‘at the mouth of the well of Itza,’ is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This now derelict city was reportedly established by the Maya people and was a thriving political and economic powerhouse of the Late Classic and Terminal Classic Period 600-900 AD. Its well-preserved ruins are home to one of the largest and most famous Mayan archaeological sites in the world, featuring ancient pyramids, palaces, temples, an enormous ball court, as well as an array of striking sculptures.
Cenote Suytun - one of the most photogenic and Instagrammable cenotes we came across during our Mexico travels. Famous for the dazzling light beams which descend directly onto its circular viewing platform, Cenote Suytun is a unique and beautiful cenote and a popular stop for those exploring Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It is the viewing platform that makes Cenote Suytun totally unique. A narrow stone walkway leads to a circular platform that sits directly under the opening in its roof - standing on the platform when the light beams are directly overhead is almost an otherworldly experience and the photos are mesmerizing. Swimming is also possible at Cenote Suytun and there are some interesting rock formations to check out on the cave walls.
Cenote Ik Kil - is an open-top type cenote. This means that the swimming area is open to the sky rather than being enclosed in a cave-like some cenotes. Swimming in the clear waters with the hanging vines cascading into the water is truly breathtaking. Cenote Ik Kil is one of the most most popular cenotes in the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula.
Valladolid - A very charming town in Yucatan, Valladolid is quite the destination to visit: there are so many things to do in Valladolid and all around the area. It’s a place where art and architecture are at the forefront, with its beautiful pastel buildings and old historic churches, and the cuisine is simply delicious. The streets are colorful and buzzing with life and to top it all off, Valladolid has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
