India had been among the first few countries to take World Health Organization's warning seriously, said Dr Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist at WHO, in a conversation with ThePrint’s Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta. This is the reason the country has seen a flatter growth in a number of cases, she said.
Ms Swaminathan explained how WHO has been responding to the crisis, to new vaccine candidates as well as global drug trials and why over-crowded countries India will have to pioneer new ways at social distancing.
