Instead of buying a new crop sensor camera, just buy a used full frame camera. You don’t need the newest camera out. I just bought a used Canon 5D mkIV for $800. I got a Sony A7R3 for $1200. People are constantly upgrading and selling their stuff. Nobody is going to know you took pictures, or shot your latest video, with a used camera, unless you tell them.

Full frame cameras are ideal for wedding photography and product photography. I agree for KZitem videos, crop aps-c cameras are perfectly fine. Get decent lenses for crop sensor cameras like Sigma primes and the quality will be there! Decent lighting like adding LED to studio, or capturing in sunlight outdoors, keeps the images clean in crop cameras.

Very good points. It all depends on what you need and want from your camera. For the absolute best quality, full-frame is often the way to go. But if you need to save money and you're fine with the limitations of the crop sensor, there's no reason to get a full-frame.

APC-C sensors are pretty much identical in size to the film plane of a super 35 cinema film camera, ie, the cameras that have been used to shoot the vast majority of hit movies over the last several decades. "Full frame" DSLR cameras actually represent an oversized sensor in terms of film making. There are plenty of mega expensive cinema lenses that don't even cover film plane of a "full frame" sensor and you get port-holing and/or massive vignetteing.

Really good points. Another thing to consider are the perspective you can achieve at any given distance. Typically lenses at the telephoto end have a compressing effect, whilst wider lenses do the reverse, which is where the old saying 'the camera adds 10 pounds' comes from. Outside this is less of an issue as you can just stand further back and have the same lens on, but indoors, when space is limited you may not be able to get enough back as that 50mm acts like a 75mm. As a pro wedding photographer getting the right perspective was often the difference between a flattering image and an unflattering one and why 'portrait lenses' are typically somewhere around 85mm.

I love my (slightly elderly) full frame camera for sports photography. My photos improved by leaps and bounds the day I started using that camera with the same lenses as before. And, when I replace it, I'm no longer convinced I need a full frame camera. This video made a good argument as to why: the ability to buy another camera or even another lens or two at the same cost. KZitem gets a small camera and an elderly camcorder (used for shots of my desk). I actually started using the small camera as a walk around camera because it actually took good photos unless I was trying to truly compose something great. On video, I don't think the difference is visible, especially since my software can't handle 4K video.

A full frame camera is all around camera, day and night it's reliable, fx30 10 bit won't save your footage at night. 10 bit color on paper there is difference but in real life 10 or 8 bit doesn't make huge difference. And you know in good lighting condition even mobile phone footage will be enough for social network. But again for professional work mobile phone is not ok, that's I know

Full frame was a stills thing, movies were made in s35, because you don't need background so blurry in story telling, and the lighting is controlled in movie making so low light is not as important. In stills, the resolution was steadily going up from 1mp to 100mp, and it does make a difference in resolution (landscape), dynamic range, low light performance and blurry background in portraits.

...and then there's 2 perf, 3 perf and 4 perf 35mm. 2 perf films (used on plenty of network TV drama shows and some hollywood films in the 90s and 2000s by frugal producers) is only 22mm x 9.5mm, so WAAAAY smaller than "full frame" DSLR, which is generally around 36mm x 24mm in 4:3 mode and then cropped top and bottom for 16:9 or used full frame with anamorphic lenses.
@jamesmlodynia8757

Their are so many different things to consider when it comes to video on any camera bodies beside the sensor size, this also goes for photography. Not all sensors of the same format are created equal. Some cameras are more video centric than others regardless of sensor size. Some cameras will crop the video some will overheat in a very short period of time, some have fans built in to help cool the camera. Second some cameras have better processors than give more video capabilities than others, lastly some lens are better choice for video than others and some cameras have IBIS AND can handle rolling shutter better. So for some one looking for a good video camera sensor size is far from the most important aspect of a camera, you need to look at the camera as a total package, this also goes for people that only do photography with a small amount of video.

You don't need FF as the film industry has used Super 35 for decades and have amazing results. If it's good enough for film, it's good enough for us! People seem obsessed with "creamy bokeh" and go FF, but you can still have that in abundance, but composition, framing, background design, lighting is way more important!

Ok please let the viewers know that a 35mm sensor IS NOT a full frame sensor. As of today Jan 21, 2023 only the film industry has full frame sensors. A full frame sensor is that bigger than 8x10 (that’s roughly the size of an X-ray negative plate) and not all full frame sensors (bigger than 8x10 are not made the same! All others ARE “cropped” (not really) from the film industry full frames. Now every sensor has it uses that’s why the super 35 (24mm) sensor applies so well on video and many other things. Cameras with 24mm sensors usually come with tons of features we seldomly see on their 35mm counterparts. Today I shoot Canham 8x10 (film), Leica 35mm digital, and Fuji 24mm digital. I had an Olympus but my daughter took it from me (lol). Every sensor size has it uses and if you don’t know this fact you’ll be struggling all your life because if not accepting the compromises and adapt to them. That’s the magic of photography. Know the limitations of your tools and learn to apply them in their fields! 35mm is NOT the best nor the most reliable, none of them are! Young guys and gals get out of KZitem and learn art, history and attain knowledge to become proficient because without knowledge no matter what you have you won’t succeed, but with knowledge everything will shine! Great video young man 👏👏👏👏👏
