@@TheOutboundMind OK, I understood your hiking approach (which I find very sporty) I thought that you could also do long distance treks, but that filming these would be problematic (personally I do treks of 250 to 600 km with 17 kg in a backpack, but I only take photographs to save my external batteries.

@@sachakisling Well, weight isn't a concern because my pack is usually only 10-15 lb (4.5-6.8 kg). The major logistical issue is time. In order to produce a video, I have to hike twice. During the first time, I study the route and take photos. Then, I come back and hike while filming. Anything 4-5 days longer just takes too much of my time, overall. And that's not including watching, editing, and uploading to KZitem afterward. I'll never get to/complete all of the ones I still need to visit if I spend weeks or months on a single route. Specifically for this Mount Adams video, I hiked on 6/20/22 and again on 6/30/22. I stayed almost two weeks in the region.

It looked like you had to backtrack to find that first slide. I am not sure if you were planning to try another way down. The second to the last slide was the best. It looked like you were flying. You saved a lot of time on those slides. I was totally lost at the bottom of the slides. You ended up in a different place than going up. Amazingly, you found the first pole. It seemed to be more confusing going down than up. Footprints went everywhere. I assume that you had to use GPS.

Going with your references, yes, I'm slightly off-route before the first slide. I've suspected that and used the GPS to confirm my position (but not for directions). Similarly, before the first pole, again I use GPS to confirm my position to avoid continuing farther down toward the glacier. Good observations.
