Getting up on Tumbledown Mountain via the Loop Trail is the more exciting route, as there will be major scrambling and climbing. After the large Tumbledown Boulder, the ascent turns noticeably steep and relentless. A short break occurs around halfway, but probably much too short for what's coming next: the infamous Fat Man's Misery. Iron rungs are installed to assist hikers through the claustrophobic chimney. Overall, the Loop Trail may not be suitable for children or dogs, unless your children or canine buddies laugh in the faces of tight spaces and vertical climbs-in that case, congrats.
There is a pristine tarn up high called Tumbledown Pond. A lot of hikers make it their destination; some camp overnight. They will also choose hiking up the longer but easier Brook Trail. The tarn is surrounded by two of the three Tumbledown Mountain peaks and the higher Little Jackson Mountain to the northeast. The views are nice. And the water is refreshingly cool.

My Thoughts:
I did not tumble down the mountain, but I did climb through Fat Man's Misery (the chimney at 52:45) in an awkward way: I stuck to the left side, mainly to avoid scraping the camera against the boulders. It is better to squeeze toward the right. Either way, a bigger individual would probably have to remove any external pack. More people use the Brook Trail instead, as the video shows. But if you are doing the hike my way then the options are to arrive in two vehicles and park one at each end, or with one vehicle and walk the 1.3 miles between the trailheads.
Note: the true summit of Tumbledown Mountain is actually the (highest) North Peak, but it requires some bushwhacking to get there. I go to the West Peak in the video.
