I watched part of a 34 minute video last night. The guy was testing a new portable tire inflation. The front wheel on his Harley started leaking air out the valve core after he added 4 PSI to the tire. He was going on and on about how HD has defective tires and needs to step up their game. I have a fleet of trucks , trailers , loaders , farm tractors ect. Some times valve cores stick and go bad. It takes a few seconds to replace them. I sent him a link to Harbor freight where they sell a valve core tool and 4 new valve cores for $1.99

Yup!! Valve stems only take a few seconds to replace and do get bad or loose with time! You're correct on this 😁

@@MotoDasha My Front end loader tire has a nail in it. I have not yet dismounted the tire and patched it from the inside. I tried to plug it and that failed. It has Jumbo valve stems, much larger than standard sized valve cores. So you can fill a tire faster or put liquid chloride or Beet Juice in the tire for ballast. Filling the tire has always been super slow. I have a two stage air compressor runs between 150 & 175 PSI. My tire was not taking any air.. I was in a hurry and multi tasking. I took the valve core out thinking it was clogged with tire sealer. I run 2 gallons of tire sealer in each tire. I put a straight pick down the valve core and felt an obstruction. I was desperate to get air in the tire , so I took a drill and drilled though the obstruction. I still could not get any air in the tire. I was using two 50' hoses. Somehow I figured out the one hose was internally compromised and I get a different air hose. Now that tire will take air really fast. Where as it always took forever to fill the tire to 40 PSI in the past. I had two issues that were compounded. My Dump Truck had 40 wheels so checking and filling tires can be a pain. I have clip on air chucks / tire filler gauges so I can fill two tires at the same time.

You asked about it early in in the video, I am not particularly brand specific to oils. I try to pick up stuff that is motorcycle friendly, or specific when possible. These days I mostly use Lucas motorcycles oils. I can usually pick it up locally at O'Reilly's but a little while back i started ordering it in 6 gallon boxes from Summit Racing. The convenience was a game changer for me.

when I was mechanic, there were many customers who would bring in their own oil, not wanting Harley oil and Lucas was the most frequent brand I'd see people use.

@@MotoDasha it's a good price for full synthetic, I have put thousands of miles on it without any noticeable issues. And when I buy in that kind of bulk the price is right in line with traditional oil. But you do need to have a space to keep a big box and a way to transfer it to your vehicle. Both aren't issues for me. My biggest reason I use Lucas is that in just about any decent sized city I can snag a quart from a typical auto parts store.

Doing a whole 5k I love thqat you are doing this to show there is more than a simple fluid change when doing a service.. I use Amsoil personally in Both bikes . Most of my guys do. So they actually let us carry it in the store. It was kinda hard telling a customer that we use HD or SYN3 100% when most of us don't.. So we got the ok for recommend and sell Amsoil, Redline and give our honest opinion about them.. It has also become cheaper in the past month on the oil side. When you do 10k or a 7500 mid let me know Ill see what we can do!

I don't know why people idle a cold engine for a bit before an oil change. Go out and ride it like you stole before you change the oil. That way it will be hotter , thinner and have all of the contaminants that oil keeps in suspension , in suspension so it all drains out with the hot oil .

@@jagjr6772 Last summer I was putting air in my Father's 1963 International Dump Truck. It has bias ply tube tires on the back and tubeless tires on the front. I put air pressure in the Left front tire and it would not stop lacking out the valve core. I had neglected to make sure my portable tire tool box was in my trailer. So I had to have go back and get my tools and supplies and install a new 10 cent valve core. Tube Tires can hold air for 5 times longer than tubeless tires do if they don't have any pin hole leaks in them.

Howdy 🤠 Listen! I found ya before the Doodle shoutout, lol. Which is unusual for me, but it’s her fault I went to HD, she done videos while ago on how she liked Heritage, so I gave HD a chance, lol. So, it’s her fault I got HD, lol. Then again, if I realized how available & cheap ZRX1200 was before that, idk if I’d gotten a HD tbh, lol. (I want one sooo badly) Anyhows, I appreciate ya covering this, normally I found most accurate info from service manuals, as dudes at dealers tend to give me a bit of run around or act like I’ve ridden for like 20 yrs, just because I look like old biker, lol.(Ok, maybe dailying carbed bike casually is bit to it also, lol) But, coming from no background of really owning or fam who’s ridden, I don’t know this stuffs. Now, so ya gotta get 100th anniversary at 100k, right? And ride with Doodle? 👀 Have a good one, & now to see when ya get another 5k 😊
