Maersk Supply Service is project managing and executing the decommissioning of the Janice, James and Leadon fields in the UK North Sea.
In July 2018, Maersk Supply Service mobilised to the Leadon field to recover subsea infrastructure. This phase of the project involved cutting the field's pipeline bundles, and recovering its mid-line structure and South towhead. The work was carried out from Maersk Inventor, one of Maersk Supply Service's I-class SSVs of the Stingray newbuilding series.
This is the first time bundles of this size - at 51" in diameter - have been cut, and the lift of the towhead represents the first time such a structure has been lifted and recovered by a subsea construction vessel.
