The AUDIENCE is so STONE-COLD! URMANA (Lithuania), HVOROSTOVSKY (Russia), DESSAY (France) and GHEORGHIU (Romania) are among the BEST opera singers of our time. All four poured their soul on stage singing the most beautiful pieces of the russian repertoire... and that s all they get?! Seriously?! Ridiculous!!! LOL Had these EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCES been at Carnegie or at the MET, the roof would have been blown off by the crowd!!!! OMG!

It would be nice if there were subtitles so that those of us who don't speak Russian could understand the introduction (although I suppose it doesn't matter that much since this is a dance program). The visual montage at the beginning was rather impressive.

It's great to have a look at the restoration of this magnificent building. It suffered alot of neglect during Soviet times, for the government did not want to preserve anything much reflecting the glory of Czarist times. The repair work took several years and millions of rubles to accomplish but has been as accurate as possible. .

going to see a Ballet in Russia (Bolshoi preferred) is on my bucket list :) THAT is how you foster the arts. It would be nice if US TV would show more dancing other than reality garbage. A&E used to show loads of Ballet - where I first got into dance watching the Kirov "Sleeping Beauty", or ABT "Don Quixote", or "Swan Lake". Now, everything is reality TV & once in a while we might get something televised. Ridiculous. Thank God for KZitem so I can show these things to my daughter

The Soviets were a bad dictatorship, but this is not true. They did not have enough money, but tried to maintain the classical arts as much as possible. Ballet was even one of the big prides of the Soviet-Union. It is just that now also poor people were able to visit the opera or the ballet.
