nasosmodelingcorner.blogspot.com/2018/01/decal-softer-review.html "Buy and use any decal solution you like, either of them work at least a bit. You may as well not use nothing on your decals, that's also acceptable. Just don't buy "NEO". It's a waste of money, a waste of space on your modelling board, a waste of glass for the bottle, plastic for the cap, paper for the tag, simply a waste! If GSI Creos are reading, please pull yourselves together and start producing the original recipe of your decal softener. The world already has one "Neo", the one from Matrix. There's no need for a second one. :)" And my experience goes along it. Anything is better than NEOs.

That’s a lot of box for a 1/144 scale model, some model manufacturers don’t seem to have caught on to the cutting back on packaging to save resources, Big is not always better, and the amount of waste plastic on some of these Sprues (trees) is ridiculous, some had huge gaps between components. Don’t get me wrong, I am not some eco warrior tin foil hat wearing nutter, I just think that if they cut back on waste the price of manufacturing should come down, and so should kit prices, but I won’t hold my breath on that one, but a reduction in waste would increase their profit margin, and help our planet, our home, from running out of the resources needed to keep us in kits to build and enjoy. Unfortunately for me I can’t build smaller scale models anymore, arthritis in my hands, makes small parts hard to hold and manipulate, so my waste is probably more than the amount from this model 10 times over. Nice build, thanks for sharing with us, excellent result. 10/👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃🇬🇧🏴

When you apply mr.cement on the surface of your model, doesn’t it leave glue marks on the surface? I use tamiya their plastic glue and as soon one drop touches the surface it leaves a major mark because it melts the plastic

any polystyrene glue does this. since the glue is not glue, but a solvent in fact.
@BarcelPL
4 жыл бұрын
@@MomentalnoVMore how does ScaleModelAircraft avoid this? Do you need to sand every glue line or is his glue better?
@MomentalnoVMore
4 жыл бұрын
@@BarcelPL depending on what glue, what stain and what model and seam. If you take the classic non-liquid glue, then polystyrene itself is sometimes added there. That stain will be not just a solvent but also a little extra plastic. With experience, the skill must come not to apply too much glue. Assemble the model so that there are less distortions of the parts to be glued, if the model allows it. This allows less seam processing.

@@ronrico4741 Oh, no I understood the irony however, unfortunately it is quite true. I don't understand Andy's popularity. He's a shopkeeper that gets to model 10-12 hours a day so he pumps out videos like a factory. None of which have a very high production value mind you and based on the amount of ad revenue he earns he should be improving his quality and or hiring a small production company to bring him to the next level. He's incredibly formulaic and to be such an icon in the KZitem modeling community and the worldwide community at large is mind boggling. I ask where are his IPMS awards? Is he published either books or magazines? His only claim to fame is that he can build models quickly and build the latest kits because of his chosen profession. There are far better modelers to learn from he's just not one of them.
