I’m currently working on this model as we speak. I cannot praise Tamiya enough for the quality of their engineering, they are simply sublime. You buy a kit from Trumpeter and they’re finicky and often require teething to get them to fit. But This kit just falls together with no difficulty whatsoever. I love it. I’ve just ordered Tamiya’s P-51D in 1/32 and can’t wait to start work on that.

@@d34285The interior was amazing, although since mine is an airshow livery there wasn't much room for detail on the exterior. Still really nice though

Great job. Glad to see you take advantage of the larger scale and go heavy on the weathering. Alot of larger scale aircraft builds donot do this.

I am looking around for potential conversions for a 40k army and the Corsair is one of my favourites. Might need to get one of these just to make it stock, ontop oft he conversion/kitbashes I am going to do.

Nice build. You would think Tamiya would go the extra mile and die cut the canopy mask. Pretty good model when that is the only complaint!

Well done. Awesome as usual. Does the kit not allow the engine to be displayed open? Would really be disappointing for such an expensive kit if this cannot be shown open.

Being colourblind makes USN aircraft problematic for me. I see the boxart as showing a dark blue colour. Yet everyone who builds one of these aircraft uses various shades of grey and generally lighter shades than I expect. Is there a specific reason for this? 😮😮😮❤❤❤😮😮😮

Ohh, were all these a delight to watch! Thank you thrice! One for interesting topics, two for excellent detailing, and three, giving us a peek over your shoulder. I especially appreciate you for these since I lack the means to afford all the elements--kits, aftermarket, pains and tools, etc.--of such projects (as well as the dozens of other 1:32nd-scale model kits of combat aircraft I wish I could . . . .). Oh, I will just keep watching!

Nice model. I miss the part on the weathering, at least some of it. You showed how you made scratches, added wash, and all of the sudden, the model is finished. I would like to see also how you made these oil leaks, exhaust stains, MG smoke. as this is what makes this model a beauty. Anyway, thanks for sharing and keep it up! Greetings from Poland!🙂

Currently, I am building Tamiya 1/48 scale P 38. Unbelievable engineering and fit. Oh how I wish Tamiya would produce 148 scale kits for the B24, B25 and B 17. Sure, others make those kits, but nobody does it like Tamiya.

Beautiful job on this build! The chipping and weathering details spot on. Tamiya kits are top shelf kits and well engineered. I hope one of your soon project builds will be either an F-86, p-40, mosquito, harrier, or the fairey swordfish.

Question: What does Tamiya Paint Retarder do?
@andrewbrown2249
11 ай бұрын
Slows down drying time essentially. Can help with a multitude of issues - from dry tip on the airbrush, to helping the paint flow nicer hot & dry atmospheric conditions, and can also help the paint level a bit easier on the surfaces. Folks who brush paint also love the stuff for getting Tamiya acrylics in a better place for that method. The pay off is that you obviously have a slower drying time, and that if you add too much, the paint might not dry and cure in the right way at all.
