Beautiful. I love Tri-Fives, own a 57 (55's always my favourite, probably the cleanest, sleekest, possibly the best car design from The Big Three in the 20 century) Been watching you work on this since I tripped over your show, probably a year & 1/2 ago? Attention to detail, all the little hidden things using stock Chev styling cues, stunning. Your cold air setup, all the brackets, covers, fasteners, etc, Love it. Great job...& it looks drivable.

Just flat out amazing work! I know tri-fives and I don't even know where to begin on the multitude of great subtle changes here! I like the hiding of the fasteners in many places such as the inner fenderwells and the radiator support side panels. of all the times I've cut my hands on those screws! The smoothing or reversing of those fasteners is really nice! I have always liked the idea of building a bigger cubic inch engine and making it look like a factory 265 or 283. We had a guy at the drags with a '32 Ford with a factory look and badged 283 Chevy in it. It was a 406 in disguise and the car ran in the low 11's... a sleeper for sure! The headlights being moved back instead of bulging out of the headlight bezels was something I had always wanted to fix from the factory! The dash is another great improvement with eliminating the ash tray/lighter and using the auto-tronic eye as a shift light is really a brilliant idea! The gauges having the bow tie background and the needles painted in neon makes the dash pop and really more readable as well as unique. I also like the hammer tone paint and crest on the heater box. The tissue dispenser is another great updated idea! The subtle attention to detail and patience to complete the work would blow the mind of any tri-five guy if he were to look long enough! Just seeing the car when you started to where it is today is a feat within itself! I have painted cars before but, never done upholstery. It is amazing that you tackled all the work yourself! I don't think I could have ever had the patience to do upholstery. Saying that you did an amazing job on this hardtop does seem to say enough about the work you did! After 10 years, I hope you and your wife are really able to enjoy the fruits of your labor on this beauty! Keep up the outstanding work and take care!

Has to be one of the best "garage" builds around. Would absolutely love to see this car in person. All your personal custom touches are excellent. 2 questions. 1. on the brake master cylinder. That is manual brakes? What size bore and how do you like manual brakes? I have power brakes but hate the look of the booster. 2. Is your steering box a stock box? Congratulations on a very High end build.

Need some help. Trying to find an original gm used door mirror for my 55 sedan belair. Going patina style. Can’t find gm part numbers for an original, seem to be finding repops. Also need info on correct location mounting on the door, brackets and hardware. Thanks for any help
@haffrods7055
Жыл бұрын
David, I don't know of any original door mirrors around locally. I'm unsure on stock location of the mirror to the door. I will say for anyone going to mount a door mirror on a tri 5 car= if you have to drill holes, be sure the wing (vent) window will open without hitting it. I'm wondering if my junk yard videos of the tri 5 cars show any door mirrors?
