Nah... I'm an adult (25 y) and I'm not embarrassed to play horse games. When I was little, I begged for a game where there was at least one horse, never get one. In my country there were no "horse girls" as horses were considered boy/men topics. In fact, being a girl and liking horses was considered weird. When I was 19 I had more chance to play Star Stable and fell in love with the game, then I started looking for other ones and I don't regret it. (Alicia, Roblox, etc.) No one should feel embarrassed of the things they like. By the way, I love your channel.

Horses being considered a boy/man topic is so foreign to me it's the opposite here! Being an adult makes it so much easier to get ahold of things you wanted as a kid, fr, or spend money on things that make you happy regardless of what it is. Ty happy to have you here!~

@@huntermoonhearth Yes, I think this varies from country to country. I was bullied so many times for my love of horses that at some point I stopped caring what people said about me.

A lot of reasons I’m embarrassed is because 1; I’m a trans guy, a very masculine trans guy, and I know horse games/star stable can be enjoyed by everyone, because of the stereotype that is being a “horse girl” or that star stable originally was made for girls, I get dysphoric/embarrassed because the stereotypes/star stable originally aimed at girls. 2; I think because star stable is such an old game made for kids, and I’m 19, it just adds to it It honestly sucks that I feel embarrassed about it because star stable is a comfort game, I literally mostly play just for races and admiring my horses, it’s nice just having a game I can mindlessly play without stressing. I grew up with Schleich horse figures, I never had a ton but they’re some of my favorite childhood toys, back then too. I also loved horseland, a lot. A lot of it comes from how people would react, I’ve noticed

And actually, thinking again, I used to get bullied for liking horses and called a “horse girl” after just saying horses are one of my favorite animals, it’s awful.

I am sorry the game causes dysphoria for you, it's a shame, I really hope we get more body types and maybe one can help you with it. Getting picked on for liking horses sucks so much, kids are awful when they bully, unforgiving even.

@@huntermoonhearth I hope so! I’ve noticed there’s been a lot more androgynous clothing that’s been released in the past few years! I still very much love this game, just these few things have made me embarrassed playing it haha. Been playing since around 2013-2014

Horses aren't really the only animals you get bullied for liking, I always loved all animals, that includescreepy crawlies like spiders, or snakes, (I actually own two snakes) and whenever I would try to step in to catch a spider and save its life when someone wanted to squish it, I got bullied, now as an adult, when people learn that I have snakes they are extremelly judgmental and suddenly become some sort of animal activist saying that I am a terrible person for putting them in a cage (they are extremelly well cared for and have big naturalistic habitats) while those people actually have a goldfish in a bowl in the living room and offered their kid a hamster in a 10 cm cage for christmas. People bully or judge others when they are uncomfortable, people don't care about my snakes, they aren't bothered by the fact my snakes live a terrible life away from the wild, they are bothered because someone they know have a snake when they don't like snakes and don't understand why people can like them People are bothered when you like horses because not everyone likes them and because it's not trendy, because horses are extremelly gendered in our society (look at the shows for kids with horses, all exept spirit (which didn't perform well at all for this reason) were for girls, same for games) The issue isn't that you are girly for liking horses here, if anything you are quite the opposite (not my thoughs) but "the guy is supposed the be the tough one, the one that catches the bugs and gets his hands dirty, the girl should be pretty and do nothing" if you are a girl that likes horses well too bad for you, you have a problem, you are a bad girl because you have personality (omg) The second thing with horses and I don't know why that is but horse girls tend to be more obsessive about their passion compared to a girl who likes singing or martial arts, I don't know why that is, I was the obsessive kind myself who drew them in ressess and galopped more than ran, got bullied for it, wasn't fun I have been embarrassed by my collection (breyer horses and schleich) but not of horse games, as I only play sso to chill after a long day. Now I am over that, am proud of my collection and I am totally happy to say i play sso in front of my father in law because if he thinks it's dumb well he's the problem and I have the right to do what makes me happy And to all the bullies who made fun of me, now I am an artist who gets paid for drawing horses (and cars) and you know what, i feel that's a nice deserved middle finger to all of the haters from school In conclusion, horses aren't the problem, the bullying and judging happens when you are simply different, because there aren't many of you in the ressess it's easy to pick on you, what are you gonna do, defend yourself? Against all of the kids? People have an idea of what's useful in life, nearly every interest trains you in some kind of way for something bigger, own a dog? That will teach you responsabilities for having kids one day, especially as a woman (because OBVIOUSLY all women have the mission to have a kid later in life RIGHT) own a snake? Well that's useless, that won't teach you anything useful in life, Play football, good this will teach you to do sports and be healhy, dance, good you'll learn to become feminine (this is why most girls in my country have dance lessons very young when they don't even like it) play music? Good you'll become an intellectual, ride horses? ... Well everyont know horseriding isn't a sport (RIGHT) and well horses ar expensive and take time and they stink and are dangerous so yeah they'll just teach your kid to spend all days at the barn instead of studying, smelling like sh..., not even doing anything productive and blowing money on useless animals Of course take my comment with a truck of salt, I am not listing my thoughts but what I think people may think and I realy don't agree with those things

I'm in the middle. On one hand idc bc I agree with you: "I'm an adult and I like horse games; it's not a big deal." But then there's a part of me that is embarrassed, considering how sso community is now... weird...toxic... hostile. But maybe there's a also a plethora of other reasons, all too messy to really put in coherent thought, but exist nonetheless. Ykno? Like, how, (at least for me) horse-game-lovers seemed pretty niche when we were really young. I sometimes went to people, they had no clue what I was talking about, but they knew all of the obscure pokemon games, or related media. Thrilling games like car racing or horror were also a big thing. Comfort games like SSO, Bella Sara, Pixie Hollow, Feral Heart... they were all hidden in the background. So, I think most of us as kids internalized that pressure of "being that weird horse-geek" and it didn't help that most things horse-related were catered to girls, and it was in a grossly stereotypical setting that I don't blame you for cringing at as you grew up. Also, the general way in which gen Z was raised might play a big part in this embarrassment too. They call us "soft," but I think that's because of our parents' & grandparents' disagreeable pasts. I think most of us grew up to be more willing to adapt, thanks to the overwhelming influence of the internet. And to adapt appropriately, some things needed to stay under lock and key for self-preservation. Being in a niche community, thought to be grossly girly, meanwhile favour for more thrilling avenues skyrocketed... it's no wonder we feel as conflicted as we do. Or maybe I'm simply projecting 😂 idrk, but I'm just happy I'm not alone in these strange feelings around playing horse games

It's not the horses part that embarasses me, plenty of gamers have a silly game they enjoy (like dress to impress being quite popular rn even with an "unusal" audience). But those silly games all have in common that they're fun. I can explain liking horse games, but when I then also have to explain that, actually no they all suck? Ooofff It also doesn't help that I'm a trans guy & an adult and that the expected audience is little girls.

I'm not really embarrased to play sso or the fact that i like horses, it is harder to tell people since i'm afab but not a woman so i am afraid of being misgendered for my interest in an animal.
