Thanks for the honest review. Looks cool to e too. Most times I’d use it to scan ref objects and overlay it in onshape and trace it there ;)

It took me watching a lot of videos to get anything useful out of it. I will link the best one below because he goes through the whole workflow. I actually took a model and went step by step replicating what he did watching it and re-watching it over and over. It helped but was very laborious. I am still not great with it but got something that worked. kzitem.info/news/bejne/ymubmIduqGmGnZgsi=Mv1YjYCS-EsTJdMl

Something that you can do that will absolutely make your scanning much better even with the phone app is get yourself some scanning spray its definitely expensive but worth it. Anyways you will find some people that say you can use other products but you will end up with bad scanning just as if you are doing it the same way you are now do buy real scanning spray and it will make a huge difference. What its doing is it removes the shiny surface of the items that you are trying to scan. Bottom line buy the real stuff not something else that someone says works because you will only be disappointed. Anyways hiv it a try i know you will love it.🙂👍✌️

I do need to try the spray. I balked at the price but the more I see about it, it definitely seems like it is worth it.

@@theeddies yes its definitely expensive but it's 100% absolutely worth it. A lit of websites only sell it in bulk/ more than one can at a time bug a few sites you can buy it one can at s time for about $35. USD To $40. USD S so its nit that bad when you take into account how amazing it works. Anyways give it a try and good luck i hope you decide to give it a try and just tey to ignore the price because if you do and depending on what you do of if you do this just for yourself or if you do this professionally either way you will make your money back because the quality will be almost like the original parts. Good luck 🙂👍✌️

I just sent this same scanner back to amazon. I have done everything except sacrificing a goat to get a decent scan. The part i'm trying to scan in cube form and its not a cube measures H 10 mm .4 in W 12 mm .46 in L 1.6 in 40 mm After 10 days of this I never got a scan the software is Creality scan 2.1.6 I like the unit it is built well but I think its weakness is the software. I hate to return anything but a $350 investment in a product and zero scans isn't going to cut it. The resolution is .1 mm = .04 of an inch. it should produce something at that resolution. Putting the part on a turntable and a stand gave me nothing. Getting the distance was in the optimum green scale as you did should have given me a good scan. I did not get scan I am very frustrated with this unit. It should have produced a part. Creality needs a HUGE improvement in its software. For small parts find something else

You are correct. I have noticed that the smaller the item, the harder it was for the scanner to even find it. Though I never did anything that small. I think it has something to do with the physical perspective angles of the scanner sensors so not sure that software can address that.
