The Feds make housing project grants available, but the funds don’t last forever. Once a grant is used up, the city has to find more to keep these projects sustainable. If they fail to apply in time or if money gets cut, this is what happens. After sitting, mold, rot and leaks cause the houses to not pass health codes. It costs less to tear them down and start over than rehab the existing buildings.

Maybe you're not watching on a device where this is possible, but I sometimes watch in 1.25 or 1.5 speed. Works on computers and phones, but probably not smart TVs. It doesn't on my Roku TV. BUT, doing that lessens the "watch time" for the channel and one of the ways youtubers get paid is by watch time.

EXACTLY!! You’ve got Democrats to thank for that!! It’s the same in Marietta, GA (a suburb of Atlanta). They have all of these nice, clean apartments that just need minor repairs to move people into and instead we have an 8 YEAR waiting list for Section 8 housing! With all of these apartments just standing there, empty! And don’t even THINK about getting housing if you’re white in this city!!! I’ve actually thought I’d try a transrace deal. Where I IDENTIFY as a black woman! Then they CANT continue to discriminate against me without fear of being sued. PLUS I hear some of my black girlfriends in the same EXACT situation I’m in telling me they get like 4-500 dollars a month in food stamps while I get $98!!! For a MONTH of food!! Let’s just say that I’m sick of ramen noodles!!! It kills me to see some people come into the store and fill their carts with steak and shrimp and crab legs with their EBT card. While I live off of ramen noodles and beans & rice. I can’t even afford fresh fruit or vegetables anymore because they have gotten so friggin expensive nowadays!!

It's always corner lots that seem to be the worst. I understand that money is the main issue with cities, not taking care of the places they have taken over ownership of, but they are being the same as the people they fine for not mowing the lawns. Surely there would be some way for them to get these lawns mown. Even just once a month would be better than leaving them to grow up so much.

When I was a kid, 9,10,11ish I cut grass, edged with a gas edger and had to cut the grass out of chain link fences, trim hedges and bag everything. My mom would come from her beauty shop and just tell me I had a lawn to do (i cut for the owner of the shop which was attached to her house). Mom got me the lawns to cut and told people it was $4.00. Others were charging up to $10.00 for the same thing. Sometimes it would take from can see to can’t see for just one house. I was well under paid but wasn’t allowed to charge more . I had 15 lawns. Some weekly, some biweekly and some when the grass was up to my knees.
