Nizoral is great, but you also need behavior/environment changes or fungal acne will come back-wash pillows and face cloths with mild bleach solution and rinse completely, cool your sleeping environment if possible, immediately remove damp sweatbands/head wraps/hats, dry your hair and face thoroughly before sleeping, and don’t over-moisturize.

I think I have "fungal acne" caused by using a full face CPAP mask. There's humidity trapped there all night. I can't use a different mask because my mouth falls open while I sleep so nasal pillows don't work for me. Is there anything I can do to stop these breakouts? I already use Nizoral and it does help but the bumps keep coming back. The only other thing I can think of is that my other skincare products are feeding the yeast. I found a big list of fungal acne safe products that I searched through (for the cheapest stuff because I'm broke lol) and ordered and I'm waiting on them to arrive now.

Yes, great question. I wonder if washing with Nizoral first and then applying a barrier cream before wearing the mask could help, or if the moisture could still get into your skin. I also wonder if something like moleskin, gauze or silicone tape could be used at contact points to give your skin a breathable or more skin-friendly barrier without overly compromising the seal of the mask (you would obviously want to test this under professional supervision-we want you breathing safely and healthily, even if it means you’re bumpy ❤)

I have had it for years saw dermatologists and did everything they asked. spend a lot of freaking money on products which at some point was not sustainable, to the point where at the moment I dont even want to take care of my skin anymore cause nothing works and every single person in my life is very eager to point out my skin problems like Idk myself. I really love your videos and I really wish there was anything you might be able to suggest about this condition. I did try with an antidandruff shampoo and it was fine. its just that it is recurring

Dr. Idriss once again passing on some helpful knowledge 👊🏼 Always appreciated! You turned me into a skin nerd for sure 😂 Got a question, I’m hoping you can answer 🤞🏼 Went to the dermatologist (not a cosmetic) & she told me this large raised thing I’ve had on my forehead for years is a “Soft Yellow Papules w/ Central Umbilication” & basically excess oil accumulation. And, there’s nothing I can do to get rid of it. Would really love to know your thoughts & more details on what they are, if there’s a way to get rid of them & to prevent more from happening. In the last year or so, 2 smaller ones on my jaw line have appeared 🙁 Would be so grateful to have your insight. If you want pics, I’m happy to send privately.

This is crazy. I took my then 15 year old (now 23) to the “best” (highest charging imo) dermatologist in our state. He diagnosed her with Fungal Acne and wrote a prescription for topical antibiotics. It cleared it up, but any antibiotics are not fun. Idk what he put in her chart notes, but he told us it was fungal acne. I say it’s crazy because like every female in my family suffers from folliculitis in various places, and yet I never thought it would be the cause. Thank you!

I use bha and a little aquaphor 3-in-1 diaper cream (it's just a super hydrating zinc cream. This doc reccomends zinc diaper cream for dry skin too) I have dry skin but get some acne and sometimes some bumps like you speak of. Aha is reccomended for dry skin because it's more hydrating but in my experience bha works better when you know you need real acne fighting power. Work up to how much your skin likes but for me my skin likes it a lot and I really massage it in on the bumpy areas and I still stay hydrated but smooth. The zinc is so calming and seriously hydrating.

I have a question!❤ anti aging for atopic dermatitis patients - something I struggle to find information about. What do I do with my neck? it's my most sensitive and tend to flair up area. I can't take my very nice skin care products that my face tolerates, down to the neck. So what can I do to keep that area taken care of anti-aging-wise? What about adding different active ingredients to My routine? say, I've gotten used to a retinol serum that I introduced to My face gradually and now I use it every other night. What kind of vitamin c should I add? is it ok to add? or should I stop with the retinol and try the vitamin c serum by itself for testing? and if I got used to it after 1-2 weeks? is it ok to do vit' c every day and retinol every other night? I also Wash my face with glycolic acid 3.5% soap that I live on for a few minutes, is that+vitamin c+retinol are too much,? Is it ok for me to have 4-5 steps routine? I'm layering the products as you taught me in that Video.. but my husband (he is a clinical pharmacist) tells me its too much and my skin can't actually absorb all that much. another thing is hair removal from the face. how should I prep my skin? I pluck with tweezers and it works ok, better than wax, but again, I'm afraid I'm harming my skin barrier, so how do I minimize any risks? or am I Just being paranoid?I I really wanna help my skin barrier but I also wanna adress the aging.. I'm 38. how do you tackle both? and also, what about injections and different procedures to atopic dermatitis patients? Am I being delusional?😅thanks so much queen of derm nerds! and warm hugs from Israel ❤❤❤

It's my situation, because my skin is very dry, to the point where if I don't moisturize it properly in winter, it gets irritated and flaky. But I started to experince acne about a year ago.
