After watching and listening to this episode on economic policies, I found myself deeply contemplating the complexities of the subject. It led me to internalize the importance of thorough reflection and analysis before discussing economic matters. It’s become clear to me that everyone, not just experts but also Tom, Dick, and Harry like myself, should engage in self-education and construct arguments grounded in statistics and facts. Prior to this, I hadn’t fully grasped how sophisticated and intricate the realm of economics really is. I’ve learned that resorting to simplistic blame games is unproductive, especially when dealing with crucial issues that affect our livelihoods, much like ensuring everyone’s ‘rice bowl’ or financial security. Terima kasih kepada 3 adiwira yang tidak tandus akan pertanyaan dan tetamu jemputan, Mr. Apurva.

Just in case you guys are planning to invite another economist to the podcast, I highly recommend Professor M Niaz Asadullah, currently a professor of economics in the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. He previously worked at Universiti Malaya. I attended his classes on development philosophies when I did my master of development studies at UM from 2017-2019 - and I enjoyed those classes listening to ideas and thoughts from his brilliant minds on development economics. This is no Economics 101. :) I'm a lay person when it comes to politics and economics, but I find this interview entertaining. Instead of feeling disappointed not understanding two thirds the conversation, it made me want to educate myself on the points discussed. Thank you KS for not undermining your audience's intelligence. More academic discourses please. It' a like for me.

13:31 Mea Culpa = "My fault". in Latin, comes from a prayer of confession in the Catholic Church. A good response to mea culpa (Latin for “my fault”, “I'm guilty”), if you believe it was sincere, could be “Thank you for owning up and taking responsibility”.

Such high quality and very informative discussions. It is amazing for a foreigner to know Malaysia more than many Malaysians. And what a shame only 67k viewership, that's less than 0.2% of the populations. How can we make more people wanting this country to improve by participating on these discussions and take actions? Lastly, what these 3 talented men doing outside of policy making, such a waste of talent, I really hope they could return to the ground sooner than later and swirl the country again!!! I think the root cause of not unleashing the full potential of productivity might be that we over emphasize racial affirmative actions in almost all areas, be it economies and educations etc, rather than real meritocracy. Liberalising certain sectors, public funds for IT startups, tertiary educations, APs for food stuff could be the first areas to go.

And on the issue of foreign workers, we are having that problems is because most of the workforce in Malaysia are not as competent as the foreign workers, as for my self I comes from private sector that are operating in the oil n gas sector, the quality of crew members between local and foreign is huge. This is the real time feedback from me as from private sectors, Petronas has this incentives that to protect local and is implementing 100% local crew must be hired, this has cost the local workforce to be less competent and competitive, they felt that they are entitle to something. This is the root cost, it’s from culture, social and upbringing of the workforce. The productivity is definitely lower than what we paid them. Business owners will not overpay the staff who is underperforming, it will lead to bankruptcy. I hope KHAIri see my comments, this is an honest feedbacks.

And with the guest coming from outside the political sphere, adds a large dose of grounded reality and impartiality to the proceedings. Congratulations! We need more professionals in your show.
