'And my nose been broke so often, I might lose it, if I sneeze...' I used to do this song for karaoke now and then, and people seemed to like it. The Bare did several funny ones, including 'She's My Ever-Lovin' Machine' and 'Greasy Grit Gravy,' just to name a few. There's a comedy track by Red Sovine and Bobby Bond called 'The Gear-Jammer and the Hobo,' which I really enjoy and recommend.

LEGENDS, LULLABYES AND LIES is a terrific collection of songs written by poet and comedian (and songwriter) Shel Silverstein. He and Bobby a few other songs. Bobby's other outstanding and rather 'thematic' album COWBOYS AND DADDIES. He has a few in these early '70s, but these aren't 'classic western music' - this is the country-rock era where Bobby was wading out of the pretentious EAGLES country-rock period and trying to find 'classic western' songs. But Shel's lyrics are anything but 'classic'. Far more interestings and comedic, really, far more story-telling and ballad-esque. COWBOYS AND DADDIES is more about rodeo down-and-out'ers, hard-tumble wanderers and day-workers. Touching, poignant... a father who spends a day with his son, only to return him to Mommy. sniff sniff.
