i saw an interview where he says that when he first joined the band was so young that it was confused about how to act in front of other people so he started to act like the rest of the band, he didnt know himfelf so good and thats why he always says that the time where he wasnt in the band was so importnt to him (besides all the drug problems) he had the time to listen what he was feleling and what he really wanted and i think its notourius how his personallity changed after that period of time. Also even if you see photos about him un the early 90s he dressed the same as anthony but after he rejoined the band he had a personal style really different. i think its a pretty relattable feeling now that im 18 and i dont understand myself either so i cant imagine myself going on tour or having experiences like the ones he had at that age

Justin Crawford He was out to shock, I think; as the youngest member of a band whose other members deliberately used outrageous behaviour to attract attention, he had to at least be their equal. @insanitymanatee2376
4 жыл бұрын
sweatersForsaLe It might have been that he was worried about the kid getting mugged, or that it might have been a front for drugs. You can see him look around before giving it to him, maybe to check for suspicious people watching. That’s just a theory though. And as for the tone of voice, people mistake me for being an angry person just cuz my voice when I’m calm sounds angry, so perhaps he was a bit like me in this clip, and was just trying to be funny, and it came off rude. But it did sound kinda mean.

John changed a lot, but I think his change was bound to happen. He was such an intense young man. I've worked with people who have different disorders, and I think he shows signs of both ADHD and Asperger's syndrome. Drugs waa a way for him to cope with that, but it almost crushed him. In the end, he found peace and came out on the other side as a much wiser man. But if you watch him during the early Californication era, he seems a little insecure. I feel like he's come full circle now. Confident, but humble. Wise, but playful. But constantly searching, like he always did. I have a friend, much younger than me, who is also a gifted musician. He reminds me a lot of a young Frusciante. And I worry for him. I sometimes think to myself; that dude is going to end up either dead or a very, very wise man someday.

You might as well interpret that by his Astrology. I kind of dislike seing any personality trait as pathologic. By now we know that ADHD is a made up thing with a fitting drug provided along with it (which is addictive) - instead of seeing such a condition as natural for a child, that has to sit still for hours and do boring stuff in a phase of life where it is most active and agile. Or interpret any introvert as having Asperger. He definitely didn't have ADHS, he wouldn't have been practising guitar for hours daily at a very early age then. Another thing is the pressure of non-artists on artists, They believe that one becomes an artist simply because he wants to be rich and famous. Nothing could be further from reality - at least for really creatice artists. They can*t imagine there is anything better to do than to create art - John himself has spoken about that many times.
@Jacob-tj8ig
Жыл бұрын
@@mamaloh8165 I agree with some of your ideas, but to say that ADHD isn't real is nonsense. It is well documented and a real problem for many people, and less of a problem for others. The solution isn't always to provide these people with drugs. In most cases that's probably a bad idea. But there are many people who are very thankful for receiving the right medication, because it makes them more or less fully functional in a lot of situations where they would otherwise require extreme amounts of special treatment. There are other disorders on the autism spectrum that could be more accurate in his case, and such people can definitely sit down and focus one thing for entire days. In fact they might even love doing that.

I feel the exact opposite way. When he was young, he was just an immature little boy. A funny and very talented boy, but a silly boy nontheless. From Californication on, he seems much wiser, much nicer and much more interesting. And his art is on a whole different level. It's deep and meaningful instead of just being funky and fun. Although it can still be that too at times. A living proof that bad experiences (and also overcoming them) can be the building bricks for very great art. I can't wait to see what he brings to the band now that he's back again.
