The 2 not very bright people here are you and the first reply. If you do not have the tow camera package, drop your tail gate and use the camera to back up to the trailer. Oh man, tell me about it. I am fortunate enough to fish during the week (work weekends on purpose) so most can do it blindfolded when I'm there. A few weeks ago I did see a husband and wife putting their boat on the trailer and as the husband was backing in she said "you're a little too deep honey". I was putting mine on the trailer right beside them and nearly choked trying to keep from laughing. She was 100% correct though because the most common mistake I see made is people backing the trailer in too deep.

@chrisprieur270

@@BryanClark-gk6ie I've helped people at the ramp and have been helped a couple times when in a pinch. Stuff happens. The problem is these days many people get mad when someone offers to help because they feel like it's a sign of weakness/ignorance on their part. These are the ones that need more practice at loading and unloading. Me and most of the people I'm around at the ramp can take care of things solo with ease and could teach a lot of people a thing or three. The experienced ones who truly need another set of hands for one reason or another are THRILLED when someone is willing to jump in and lend a hand. I had an electrical issue on my brand new boat a couple months ago and had to put it on the trailer with the trolling motor. A fellow boater at the ramp made that ordeal way easier by helping. People sit at the ramp and watch boats go in and out all the time. If they're physically able I agree they should ASK someone who's struggling if they need help OR help when asked. Otherwise, jumping in without the blessing of the boater can end with a less than pleasant experience. As someone who has been around boats most of their life and been a boat owner since 2010 it's all about respect for each other.

I can hook up by myself while my wife stands there and watches. No stress. The trick is to stop at five feet out and get out to see. Then, get back in and adjust the steering and reverse, then stop at 3 feet. Get out and check how it is aligning. Get back in and go to one foot and ger out again. Go back and check the aligning of the hitch to the ball. Get back in and back up one foot. Look at the ground when backing up to gage distance traveled. I've been doing this for years and I'd rather do it this way because it is more successful. You're welcome.
