It’s why mink coats are generally in such good shape and fuller pelt coats like fox tend to fall apart.

Given that nylon and polyester thread were already widespread by this point, it surprised me that they would use cotton thread given it's tendency to degrade. Does it stretch in a way nylon and synthetic thread don't so as to assist in the blocking process?

Bro first world country need to goddamn ban polyester and nylon clothing and only accept 100% recycled nylon and polyester.

Recycled nylon and polyester are made of plastic bottles. Polyester can’t be recycled after that point.

No there still Places that still make real fur coats Though fur it is not as popular as it was 60 years ago but there are still some places like Russia and Germany that still make fur coats.
