Oh crap. I left my lunch pail in the locker room. I gotta go back and get it. I made a really great sandwich, and I was really looking forward to eating it at lunchtime. Since we got the rest of the day off, why let a great tasting sandwich just sit in a lunch box all alone? If I don't go back and get it - the shop rats will. I'll whistle if I'm in trouble.

This is an arc furnace. A massive construction to recycle hundreds of tons scrap steel using hundreds of megawatts of power. It heats the steel to a boil using electrical arcs coming from massive graphite electrodes. A "run out" is when the internal brick lining of the furnace somehow breaks and the hundreds of tons of white hot, liquid steel escapes and flows out of the furnace. The sheer power of these furnaces is insane.
