Great job. Came out beautiful. If your hardware is metal, you don' t have to use Slick Stick on it you are going to use Rustoleum chalked spray paint on them. Spray one good coat of the Rustoleum chalked spray on them to cover well and the spray a Minwax Polycrylic to protect or use whatever spray coat you like in whatever sheen you prefer.

Hi! Thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I used Dixie bells white lightning cleaner. Then Dixie Belle’s paint in French linen and their best dang furniture wax in black. I used gator hide for the top and Varathanes water based polyurethane sealer in satin for the body. And you can refer back to the video for the steps!

Amazing job! I have a question, I am new to this, I am also working on a similar end table and how do I remove some paint that made it past the tape lines on the inside of the end table? I left the inside “as is” and just wanted to clean up the edge inside the door and interior. Is there something I can rub/wipe on it? Thank you in advance ☺️

Hi! New to your channel, love it!! I thought wax was a sealer, is there a reason you used an additional sealer on top of the wax? Thanks!
@FlipItFurniture
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you 😊 Wax is a sealer but I sell my furniture so if I use dark wax on the details I like to wait for it to dry and then give it some added protection. Wax needs to be reapplied every few months so if I seal it with poly then it will last.

I have a table like this from my grandparents. They had previously painted it white. Would you recommend stripping the old paint off before doing chalk paint?
@FlipItFurniture

If you’re keeping it for yourself then I would just do a nice scuff sanding but if you’re selling it then I would probably strip it.

I thought you weren’t suppose to put top coat over wax, I’m just curious cuz I have a piece atm that I’ve waxed and it’s not giving me the shiny look I want.Help pls
@FlipItFurniture
3 жыл бұрын
I always use a topcoat over wax when I’m waxing details. I just have to wait a few days for the wax to dry. If you apply your wax wait an hour then wipe if down and buff and your not happy with the look you can repeat that process a few times until you achieve your desired look. A few coats of wax should give it some shine.
