What you have is actually a Fusil Finn (fine gun) The Fusil Finn is essentially a fusil de chasse but they were much fancier hence the tiger stripe maple stock and fancy Lock plate. they were made special order or used as gifts given to Indian chiefs. You've got yourself a keeper there man beautiful weapon.

Thanks good to know. I'm just learning trade guns and will probably get a kit from Clay Smith. Two upgrades makes it a "Finn" eh? Noted.

Well in fact Tulle is a town and also the name of the manufacture ;) In 1720-1730 we could see a lot of these gun with a "fleur de lys" engraved on the stock which is a pretty nice ornament... Little "Bonjour" from France and wish you a happy Independance day ( In late sorry friends...). And don't forget that somewhere, always some of your oldest friends think about you ! Friends one day, Friends always

It was made by a guy named Larry Gardner who either passed or retired around the mid 2000s. From what I've been able to find he made guns for mainly museums and charity events. I came across this one in a random pawn shop and got a very good deal. Edit: he's still alive he's just retired.
