You can probably get cheaper than £12 a month for your phone in the U.K.? Why not just get a local sim in Japan - BIC camera sell them really cheaply and it’s valid for 3 months. Japan will always be cheaper than the U.K. good luck with the guest houses! I stayed at one in Itabashi-ku in Tokyo and it was infested with cockroaches… I didn’t get to meet anyone either as it was mainly Vietnamese, Philippine and Chinese people living there who didn’t know English or Japanese. I really hope you can find somewhere nicer. Or maybe not having to talk with them would be good for you? I must admit, it made life easier sometimes! It sucks about U.K. taxes especially as you are paying but not living “in the system” so therefore won’t need any of the stuff. If it’s for your pension it is optional whether you pay in or not. I opted out. Good luck - you are more sensible than what you like to admit

I left school and made many many bad decisions but what I look back on are my memories of diving, cave diving living, I ended up on heroin for a decade plus and spent it sleeping on mates couches n off roding living in a 4x4 and after all this I ended up with my house paid. Lost my ex last week and still living my path. If you get on a continent get a camper van or canal boat rented that's an awesome cheap way to travel. Hell you know what to do mate, wishing you the best kiddo from an older guy who's tried it all and working is not a lifestyle today when you can't buy an home in that lifetime today with prices. Visa running if not too obvious (going onto travel regularly, which is cheap as fuck as they are the homebase of AirAsia, the best low cost carrier network in Asia) is easy. And the malaysian riggit dropped a lot since last year. There are definitely some good deal to take here. Just ensure you live really in the center, Bukit Bintang or something, or at least really near the metro, public transports there are really limited, and pedestrian life nearly impossible.

I am not familiar with the laws of the UK but if i am to go with your word, since you are legit about being anon-citizen, i would question them about why. As in, when they had said that you had failed the series of tests, ask them where you had failed. From my experience with gov't and getting them to grant what is legally yours, you really have to be a pest to them. I have had times where i have had to apply and reapply for appeals to monies that i was legally owed. It took me about 13 times and over a span of 2 months. I got what was legally mine in the end. But it took a lot of pestering from me. The gov't is more like a machine so to speak.
