The Fiberchats interview with Felicia is worth watching - it explains so much. The previous year she already had insight exactly the same problems (but worse) there would be in 2023. According to Felicia : hey, no parking or access, not her fault besides she was having fun and that’s not her vibe; no drop off or shuttle available? not her again… she’s feeling good and hey, a bit busy hanging with Grocery Girls and enjoying the vibe; the walk and entrance a muddy mess? well, she was busy having fun and hey, she was not even aware of the problem because she didn’t have to walk herself ; and my absolute favourite is her view that if you did not get what you paid for and you “carry” your problems to the phone or email to tell her about it - well, that’s you being “passionate “ and YOU need to “take a minute”… she won’t take it personally and it not for her to care. 😂. wow. She is all about the vibe, her own good vibe and your vibe… go forth and heal yourself, by yourself because you are clearly too passionate. She’s a piece of work.

She seems like just another "small business owner" who uses the aesthetic of community and """"good vibes"""" to get away with Actual Real Crimes. I don't know if it's a deliberate plan to get herself out of her financial hole or if she's just a dumbass, but I guess it doesn't matter to the poor vendors. I'm so over the hustle culture that makes people chase the glamour of being a business owner without having like,,,, any of the knowledge or experience required.

As someone who does admin for events it amazes me that they didn't cancel when they realised the mudslide situation... cancelling the event on the day would have been chaotic but so much better than putting on an event that was unsafe and such a negative experience for all involved. I also understand the head in the sand behaviour from the organiser, as she already had money problems and most likely saw the 2023 event as a way to recover losses form the pandemic (hence the £££ ticket and booth prices). I think in her head it was "bigger event = more money" but in reality scaling up an event introduces a lot more issues and higher risks. Haven't finished the video yet but seeing a lot of comments about apples - my faves are jazz apples.

There's this thing where people (influences) throw cons thinking conventions will make them money. Conventions almost never make money the first couple years. This feels very similar. I suspect part of the reason vendor and ticket prices where SO HIGH is they spent alot more then they made they made the first two years and decided this year! This year they would cut back everywhere, charge more and finally turn a profit. This is of course only speculation but the pattern feels similar to other events I've seen before.

This is not your typical recommendation, but I used to eat Rome apples as a kid. They're mostly meant for baking, seeing as they're almost flavorless. Great video. Poor planning was clearly a major issue for Wool & Folk, but the cavalier attitude Felicia had toward vendors, and customers was also extreme and completely inexcusable. She trash-talked shoppers and lied about everything from the swag bags to the food vendors. I live in Brooklyn and went to String Thing a few times when it opened. Felicia was very charming, but it was obviously all surface. At the start of the pandemic, I contributed a nice sum to her Go Fund Me. After emailing her twice to see if she'd gotten it (she didn't bother to thank me) and getting no response, I figured out that she's just another skel. I was right.

Last event I went to, which it wasn't a yarn event mind, was a ren faire festival and it was free admission. To me, any admission to something like this is unhinged, but I guess I get it. The faire was a city-thrown event, not through an organization or a group like I think yarn events are held. They have to make their money back for the rent location somehow. Though I would think that would come from the amount of money they charged for vendors, rather than the admission from the people.
@flossimoth
5 ай бұрын
@@roseabee7503 I think maybe it's a way of filtering attendees? I could be wrong, but I feel like it's possible that people who are willing to pay for a ticket are more likely to stay longer and buy more stuff to justify the cost of admission instead of just turning up to have a little look around before leaving without spending anything. if that's true then it would be more beneficial for the vendors. that doesn't justify the high cost of the admission in this scenario, just a reason why you would charge money at all. it could also be that vendor fees alone are not enough to cover the event

@@lmaowat6358 Envy apples were my first "Holy shit, apples are amazing," experience. Before then I'd only had the deliciouses and galas. Oh how I've grown.

i love it when my fav youtubers make cameos in my other fav youtubers’ vids via voiceover to read something. it’s a particularly fun easter egg for me

As someone who’s started doing craft shows this year, it’s baffling how little thought some of these event planners put into their craft shows! I try to be an organized and thoughtful person so seeing people not care if their vendors don’t make any money sucks! Let alone not caring about vendor/guest safety!

I can't eat apples, but I used to LOVE golden delicious. Your sweater came out gorgeous. I've been wondering how it would look when it was done, and it does not disappoint!

pink lady is my fav type of apple :) also i just got done binge watching every single one of your vids here while i wrestled the flying spaghetti monster (the nickname ive given the massive tangle of yarn ive accumulated over the years) i absolutely love your style of content and the occasional skits you incorporate, your acting is always hilarious and completely spot on. definitely looking forward to everything else you create!!🧶☕️

My favorite apples are fresh from a rural New York orchard, preferably picked by my own hands and crisp and tart ❤❤❤❤

OMG! I have an old book from probably 1910 that mentions Northern Spies! The story was set in New England. Maybe someday I’ll get to taste one.
