A vehicle at almost 300k miles, hood is trash, roof is trash, no stereo, inside is worn down. At that price? I guess suckers are born everyday

yep, you'd prefer a paint job rather than a solid running 3x locked Land Cruiser. Its not how you feel, its how you look, and you look marvelous! lol

@parker if a person is knowledgeable about Land Cruisers and enjoys them, I wouldn’t consider them suckers.

I just finished refreshing my 95. Took me 2 months of solid ass work and I did everything short of a HG rebuild. Parts are expensive but pretty much all of mine was original at 310k Miles so investing in oem is not a bad idea. I could see the 80 series going for 30k+ in crap condition because of rarity. Not like Toyota is making more of these haha

Theu are built to last and have the engine redone 3 times. I the future people will be buying/selling and the conversation will be, ok it's on its first engine rebuild, cool.ready for the next 400k miles.. Here's 60k..Thanks!

Funny, I ran into a guy who bought an 80 series brand new and still has the vehicle. His wife is now nagging him to get rid of it and buy a new Jeep. (This guy had no idea what an "80 series" was, I had to educate him.) I might offer to take the car off of his hands if his wife keeps nagging him. 😁

Damn. Almost spit out my pop tart when I read the price. Don’t you think maybe $15k tops?
@CruisingTheLand
2 күн бұрын
So yes, I think 15, if you bought it before $16k was put into it. Then you would have to put the 16k to make it like it is, putting you at 31k. You must have graduated top of your math class. Thats what Pop Tarts can do to cognitive functions.

@@CruisingTheLand yikes! Didn’t mean to strike a personal nerve. I guess 80’s are the only vehicle that provide ROI after dumping a ton of money into them.

@@IronMountainPlumbing No nerve stricken..Just PSA that you can find a 80 cheaper, without being baselined and you'd have to spend the time and energy to get it to this level.

In Australia petrols aren't worth anything. 32k AUD is fkn crazy for a non-diesel.

What are fuel costs? for Gad and for Diesel, per liter?
@ioanmiller5870
Күн бұрын
@@CruisingTheLand Depends where in Australia you are. In the capital cities diesel is roughly $1.85 per litre but if you're out in the sticks its more like $3 per litre. Petrol is the same story but slighlty cheaper. I think the aussie market values the diesels more for towing and better fuel economy but that's just my two cents.
@CruisingTheLand

@ioanmiller5870 Wow.. 3 per liter.. that's pretty crazy.. In California we are at $5 a gallon for premium 91 octane. so 1.25 a liter. I just did a video before this ine about fuel economy on Land Cruisers.

read the description for all items addressed. Includes Lift, front amd rear main seals, head gasket, valve cover gasket, re done head, all hoses, full exhaust list goes on and on. Only way to save is if you are an old school Toyota tech and spend the rest of this year's weekends wrenching on your vehicle. Just go find a 270k one that has no work ever done and I am sure you'll be good for another 250k miles... then maybe you'll have a couple hundred bucks of work to be done by then? lol.. While you are at it, you can probably have an inground pool put in for maybe 2k, and let a few years of rain fill it up to save even more money.

You don’t need to be an “old school Toyota mechanic “ to work on these rigs , if you work on these yourself you’ll save yourself a ton of money and you would have the confidence knowing it was done correctly . It’s an old Toyota not a Ferrari .

What does triple lock mean?
@CruisingTheLand
Күн бұрын
All Land Cruiser come center locked, meaning you can lock the center differential, and allow 50/50 power for front to back. The front and rear lockers, which will lock the front differential, give 50/50 power to the 2 front tires and same goes for the back. Without lockers, let's say your passenger wheel is on ice, it will slip, all the power in the front diff will transfer to that tire spinning it, and your driver front would sit still. Hence you'd be stuck. By locking the front differential means the power will be evenly split between the 2 wheels, therefore the passenger wheel still spins on the ice, but your driver wheel will get traction and roll. This is a must for rock crawlers to get over rocks and boulders. Triple Locked means, front, center and rear. The best, and all 4 wheels get turning power. Ultimately the differential is made so that when turning, it allow the inner tire and outer tire to spin at different rates. If locked on pavement, you get the chirp noise of a tire skidding since they are turning at the same rate but covering different distance in a turn. You should always avoid locking fronts when turning. Hub lockers are better in this scenario, but that's a whole other story! Lunchbox lockers, Detroit lockers, there are a few different ways...

Beautiful! Hey, I have the same truck, it’s missing the rear driver’s side front part of the wheel fender. Where can I find the part? But wait, there’s more. Where can I also find the door belts and window kits (rubber)? Thank you

Door belts, EBay, but get OEM, not aftermarket because aftermarket come chrome, OEM is Black.
