Aata Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling made from whole wheat flour (aata), typically prepared during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The outer layer is made by kneading wheat flour into a smooth dough, which is then rolled into small discs. These discs are filled with a mixture of jaggery, freshly grated coconut, cardamom powder, and sometimes nuts or dried fruits for added flavor. The edges of the discs are pleated, gathered together, and sealed to form a modak shape. The modaks are then either steamed or fried until golden, offering a rich, sweet, and aromatic treat.
