I was in 8th grade at North hall middle school when this happened. I will never forget it! I also lost a dear friend that morning. I loved her dearly she will forever be missed..R.I.P. Whitney Strickland!!!

I was in 6th grade at NHMS same as Whitney but different Homeroom (Mrs. Alexander). Would of killed my little brother had it happened an hour later, tracked right through his classroom at Lanier

While hindsight is 20/20 and we cannot change the past, I think there could be a re-evaluation of some of these older tornado ratings. Well built houses wiped from their foundations shouts a more violent tornado than EF-3. I have a hard time believing with some of the violent tornadoes to strike Georgia that not one of them ever reached F5/EF-5.

I have said that for a long time. Just look at the damage. Twisted metal and entire multiple story homes torn to rubble sounds worse than just an F-3.

I remember seeing brown water shake the country club ball to in am hours....I the glass shook sky was green first,then wind,then brown small degree....I thought this was like a big tornado....it passed close,,I still thank God he protected me.. I locked all glass doors,,,they shook Gerry hard,,water was so dark,,but building was ok.....I still thank God...

@@dustinneal3074 If you don't understand the connection between the Confederate flag and race you truly need to educate yourself. People knew the history of the flad then, that's why it came back in style during the Civil rights movement, they knew it's connection to race.
