On March 24, 2014 seventy nine students from Yokohama Hayato high school in Japan spent the day shadowing Gaithersburg high school students. After school the students joined together with staff members to celebrate World Water Day and raise money for an elementary school water project in the Dominican Republic.
Students at Gaithersburg High School are working to raise awareness about the global water sanitation and hygiene crisis. They held the Walk for Water to raise funds to support the implementation of water sanitation and hygiene education at the Maria Auxiladora School in the Dominican Republic.
