The Three Elven Rings should not be the first rings made, but the very last except for the One Ring. In the books all of the Rings of Power were supposed to have been made for Elves, but after the elves discovered that there is something sus about Sauron's plan Sauron stole them and gave 7 to Dwarves and 9 to Men. (Note that the Longbeard Dwarves insist that Durin's ring was never stolen, corrupted, or given to them by Sauron but that Celebrimbor freely gifted it to Durin before Sauron gave other rings to the leaders of the other dwarven clans. Most Elves very much doubt those claims.) Celebrimbor then made 3 more rings without Sauron's involvement or knowledge, but still using techniques they had devised together. It is supposed to be safe to use the Three Elven Rings except when someone is wearing the One Ring and actively trying to use it to bend the others to his will. The other rings would begin to corrupt the wearer even without the One Ring. There is no difference between the rings given to dwarves or to men, but dwarves are said to be remarkably hardy and resistant to corruption, so much so that even with the One Ring Sauron was unable to bend them to his will and could only make them a bit more greedy and selfish. The Three Rings were said to have been designed wiith a focus on healing and preservation. All the Rings of Power however primarily work by magnifying the abilities that the wearer already have. Galadriel is a Noldor Elf who was born in Valinor among the Valor and Maiar, who learned much of what we might call magic directly from what we might call gods and angels. She was already a great healer before getting the ring. Rings of power can also cause a person to slip into the unseen spirit world, but in Valinor the spirit world and physical world are one in the same so elves who have lived in Valinor continue to live in both places at once. Galadriel should already be able to see into the unseen world without a ring of power, and the ring should not draw her further enough into such a world to make her become invisible in the physical world. It probably would make a Sindar or Avari elf invisible more like it did the Hobbit though. There were also numerous minor magic rings that the jewel smiths made when they were still experimenting and practicing their art, before they had enough skill to make anything that truly qualifies as a ring of power. Sauron and Celebrimbor worked together for several hundred years before they perfected their craft. All the stuff about using uncorrupted gold and silver from Valinor and alloying it with Mithril was made up for the show. However, it is said in the book that Morgoth suffused his essence into all the elements of middle earth but corrupted its gold most of all, so it does make sense that a ring of power would magnify the evil essence if made from gold from anywhere but Valinor.

How very interesting. This brings a completely different perspective on what's supposed to be happening. Thank you very much for letting us know!

There should be 3 races of proto-hobbits, who originated in the same place but moved west in separate migrations after people were already warring over the rings. The Harfoots should be really isolationists and hate travelling. They should be the darkest skinned Hobbits, but that means a Mediterranean olive complexion at most. They are the biggest group and the last to move west to the Shire, but but most Shire folk are mostly Harfoot ancestry. The Stoors should be river-folk. They never lived in caves in a desert. They lived on their boats before moving to the outskirts of the Shire, in Buckland and Bree. Smeagol (who became Gollum) was a Stoor. They should be a bit stouter and dwarf-like than the Harfoots. Some of them can even grow beards. The Fallowhides should be the most adventurous Hobbits. They are a bit taller and thinner than the Harfoots and Stoors, and often blond. They were a smaller group who tended to be friendly with elves. Fallowhide individuals often ended up as nobles ruling over Harfoots or Stoors. The Took family was very proud of their Fallowhide ancestry. The Baggins were almost pure Harfoot before Bilbo's generation, but Bilbo's mother was a Took. Pippin is a Took. Merry was also part Took, but had some Stoor ancestors too. Samwise was almost pure Harfoot.
