I own four other books about the ABB, but this one made me cry. You're a beautiful lady and you bring the MOST honor to band and its fans.

I cried from the very first paragraph. Being a father who's buried his 2 yr old daughter & only child, I somewhat feel a connection to Galadrielle. Her being a daughter who lost her father at a young age, and me, a father who lost his daughter when she was very young. Ironically, it wasn't until right before I turned 40 that I've gotten into Duane. Much like Galadrielle. Though I've shared middle names with him my entire life, it never meant as much to me as it does today. Today, I couldn't be prouder than to be named after Duane. My entire life has been filled with Duane & The Allman Brothers Band. So much so that I really feel like I have a connection to him. As if he's the uncle I never got to meet. If only... Wow. Here I go again, as I listen to her read again. Last time, it was on Audible. So I didn't get the visual of her sitting there reading. But the impact was just the same.

This is an excellent book. Galadrielle captures her father's life, thoughts and dreams so eloquently.

I loved your book Galadrielle! I saw your dad with the Allman Bros at Sunshine Inn, Asbury Park NJ in 1970. What a great show. It was before they exploded onto the music scene and became (justifiably) superstars. I felt so honored to see your Dad, along with the original Allman Bros. line up. Your Dad is a legend and will not be forgotten. My favorite album besides live at Fillmore East was Idlewild South. Loved your Uncle Greg (RIP) too, and the rest of the band.

Your character is testament as to what drew many to your fathers music that touched so many of us. They were a blessing to an entire generation who became proud to point to them as ‘their own music’! God blessed the ABB and May he Bless You always!

More than 1 generation. Many of those 1st generation fans' kids have also been impacted by The Allman Brothers Band. I personally have been. Duane Allman has had a HUGE impact on my life. It started the day I was born, when I was bestowed the middle name of my dad's favorite guitar player from his favorite band, Howard Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band. So I've been lucky enough to share the middle name Duane with MY favorite guitar player and the person who inspired me to learn how to play guitar. And I'm only 41. Imagine that

Hey, Joe. Have you found any more footage from this day? Thank you so so much for sharing these clips with us. Duane Allman means a lot to me personally. Having been given his middle name as my own middle name, I've always felt a connection to the man. The Allmans have been a staple in my household since before I was even born. Growing up, I was always told "you know we named you after Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band. The best guitar player there ever was" and I'd respond "Yea. I know 🙄" As a kid the 1980s, I hated the name Duane. I didn't understand the significance. Today, I couldn't be prouder than to be named after the person I consider the best guitar player ever and the person that inspired me to learn to play guitar. And I'll share that fact with anyone lol. That tells you just how proud I am to share the middle name Duane with Howard Duane Allman. And how thankful I am for my parent bestowing that name upon me. 😁❤️🙏

I was also born in Nashville & raised in Daytona beach & your dad would throw sago palm nuts & pine cones at me because I was always sitting in there back yard listening to them play...After i picked one up & hit him in the back of the head ( lucky shot, i was six) i ssaid im sorry i didn't mean to hit you. He turned around & said i meant to hit you kid & smiled & walked thu the back door..But once he found out I was also from Nashville the family took me under there wing .🍑.Mama A would make lemonade & make sure I had mine..LOL...My family moved back to Nashville a year later ( back & forth, back & forth) & i only seen Duane a couple more times but made lifetime friends with Gregg & Mama A..And the 80s were nuts I met.Frankie & Danny Toler thu Gregg & witnessed the Gregg Allman Band go from playing bars with less than a hundred people some nights to playing huge venues after Im No Angel hit MTV...In 89 Frankie & Danny moved to Nashville ( Manchester Tn) & they hung out in my little demo studio..I have some cool stories I could tell, but some ill never tell LOL ...They were good folks..Eat a .🍑for ✌️

Thanks for the post Joe. Would appreciate the opportunity to meet Galadrielle and I plan to buy this book. This summer, I Directed and Produced my first film that focuses on the teen culture's reaction to Jim Morrison's death in July/August 1971 and culminates with Duane's passing in October of that year. I'll be entering the film in many Festivals around the country this fall/winter, and Spring/Summer 2015. Would be open to send you a copy of it if you wish.
