Dude, I can´t believe this actually worked. I left my phone on the floor with the charger conected and a water leak flood my house while I was sleeping and after that I had to put the cord in a certain position in order for it to charge my phone (it was constantly getting disconnected) after cleaning the charging port with a tooth brush and a little knife, dust and rust came out of the port, I blow it a couple of times and started working. I was about to pay someone to replace it, thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much for this video. Woke up this morning with my phone charging all night and it read 34%. It drained all the way down to 2% despite being plugged in for hours. I even replaced the battery which fortunately was tested at the store and didn't charge either so they didn't charge me for it. The thing that worked the most was cleaning the charge port and draining the internal power by removing the battery and holding the power button for 1 min. Thank you so much again for saving my phone.

I'm so close to switching over to Apple. You see I have an iPod touch 5th gen. Not sure how different they are from an iPhone, but I've had my iPod for 5 years now (it can't update to the new iOS anymore) and it's still working better than my Samsung phone of which I've only had for 2.5 years. But I'll try these and see if anything works. It just stopped charging out of nowhere and I've bought a new android charger but same problem. It keeps disconnecting even though I know the plugs are snug in the port. It's annoying when you think you've charged it overnight but wake up and it's at 37% because somewhere along the way it must've disconnected and battery drained.

Basically, I was told that's not how to charge a battery the battery comes out of the device and goes on a charger.. the usb port is for file sharing You can blow fuses and worse jumping a battery *in a vehicle* That one way is like jumping a battery with jumper cables, and there is GPS device connected to the battery and website.. I bought that phone 3 years ago used for over a year.. I just kept buying new batteries (my relative *had* a store, so back then I got the Batteries cheap) It's still a nice phone, I just got tired of replacing batteries.. It took great photos.. I might even buy one of the chargers for the batteries only (plus see if it charges all the spare batteries up) and buya new NFC RING and give it as a gift..(BUT IF IT ALL WORKS IT'S A NICE PHONE STILL) It was the first phone i had that I could use as a remote to tvs and the Xbox.. They make GPS device the same price as some NFC rings and NFC batteries The GPS device holds info and URL WEBSITE LINK information..you sign the GPS devices up online So I also wondered do I sign the battery up with my SAMSUNG account ha ha ha I DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION MIGHT HAVE BEEN SAVED IN THE FIRST BATTERY.. Or if the first owner had an NFC smart ring, i was told the ring can change the volume on your tv by moving your hand that it unlocks and starts up cell phones paired with it Not sure if the hold megabytes or gigabytes or less then a megabyte I was thinking about giving the phone away as a gift so I looked up replacement batteries.. That's when I learnt they are NFC Batteries (I was wanting an NFC RING) that saves the users passwords login information and communicates with other devices I wanted to see if the ring could log me in at work like waving my hand over key card machine like would I have to use the key card.. I wonder how many bytes the battery itself holds and can share with other devices.. Then I noticed, yeah it says NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATIONS on the battery under SAMSUNG.. *Is that why it messes up???* I was told to take the battery out and charge it in a charger designed for that battery with no types of passwords or pins required..

If you need a temporary fix follow these instructions (Adults only for obvious reasons) I have been doing this now for a few weeks.. Cut your charger wire (close to to part that plugs into your phone) peel off the plastic from the red and black wires that you will find inside, so the wire inside them is exposed. Twist them as to make them easier to work with etc. Make sure the red does not touch the black, they need to stay separate. You can now join these two wires to the back of the phone where you would connect a wireless charging pad. Red goes on the left, black goes on the right. just tape them into place each time you charge your phone. You can do this for as long as you want untill you get your charging port fixed or you buy an actual wireless charging kit. Yes it is safe.... just don't put your tongue on the exposed wires whilst it's plugged in and you should be fine. Thank me later when your phone is on 100% Also there will be other wires inside the main wire but you don't need these as they are for carrying data etc (seeing as it's a usb cable also) just bend these out of the way and tape them up or cut them. your choice.

You took a brush to it sort of like a person would take a wire brush to a corroded car battery connections. Basically I was told that's not how to charge battery, the battery comes out and goes on a charger..the usb port is for file sharing The battery needs a *charging cradle* You can blow fuses and worse jumping a battery *in a vehicle* That one way is like jumping a battery with jumper cables, and there is GPS device connected to the battery and a website is linked to the gps device AND *THE WEBSITE HAS A DASHBOARD*.. You can test an Galaxy S5 by unlocking *the Developer hidden feature* its like the analysis diagnostic checking machine for cars ALSO LIKE PRE-BOOT DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON COMPUTERS IT TEST ALL TGE HARDWARE.. I bought that phone 3 years ago used for over a year.. I just watched video on an NFC ring and the guy that did the video just scanned the ring with his Galaxy S4, It needs an app but THE S4, it can read NFC strips around it,.. The strips in the NFC RING/DEVICE took it to website with a dashboard Also i watched another video in which a woman took a NFC strip from jer buss pass (a card that deducts or counts her rides on the buss) Of course the card probably has a link to a website and dashboard and you are supposed to link your bank account routing number to the WEBSITE dashboard Okay, so when the person links into to the website for the NFC STRIPS/RINGS/DEVICES that website is how your devices are controlled wireless/WiFi like I just kept buying new batteries for the S5 (my relative *had* a store, so back then I got the Batteries cheap) It's still a nice phone, I just got tired of replacing batteries.. It took great photos.. I might even buy a charger and new NFC RING and give it as a gift.. They make GPS device the same price as some NFC rings and NFC batteries The GPS device holds info and URL WEBSITE LINK information..you sign the GPS devices up online (SO THEY PROBABLY HAVE DASHBOARD AND SOME WANT A BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE SOME GPS' ARE MONTHLY PAYMENTS) So. I also wondered do I sign the battery up with my SAMSUNG account ha HA HA AN ACCOUNT THAT NEEDS REPLENISHED-STRIP I DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION MIGHT HAVE BEEN SAVED IN THE FIRST BATTERY.. *Is that why it messes up???* What can or does a Samsung NFC battery do or hold??? But now I'm wanting a NFC ring and learning about whay was messing up my battery How do you find out what's possible OR COMPATIBLE for Samsung batteries Near Field Communications ??? The battery does it also has a chip or strip??? I just watched a guy scann his NFC ring and his Galaxy S4 (he had an app that points it out) a link to the website that sold him the ring but the link is to *his dashboard* with that website...and that link or that website is how he controls things threw or VIA the website/WIFI.. Do you remember if you ever watched a commercial i think after 2001 was commercial in which a criminal looking guy was stuffing his jacket with items at a store and was walking out and door that feels or sensing tagged items said paid and the cashier said thanks for shopping with us have a nice day??? Are those tags WITH STRIPS sort of NFC STRIPS TELLING THE DEVICE AT THE DOOR AN ITEM OF THEIR'S IS LEAVING I KNOW THE PERSON I GOT THE PHONE FROM DIDN'T FINISH THEIR CONTRACT WITH SPRINT.. Like taggs on a car link onto the bmv and depending what speed you were going or light you ran can get you a ticket/charge in the mail linked to your license number (account -points)

Mine is only charging when I hold the usb down awkwardly, and it's still charging super slow. I assume it's a problem with the metal things attaching the usb port to the phone-- Same thing happened with my Wacom tablet literally two days ago- my $400 tablet broke after 3 years of use and I can't push the little metal things back to align them. I'm a broke 19 yr old with 9 more months on Sprint's shitty contract. Can someone please come to NY and fucking end me? Thanks.

My S 5 has an intermittent slow charging issue. The cable, plug, outlet doesn't seem to be the culprit. At the moment, it's charging fine. but sometimes it won't. Sometimes it discharges even while plugged in. I replaced the battery. Again, I've checked it the cords, plugs, outlet, etc. Cleaning the port with a plastic toothpick did fix it, but only temporarily. Any suggestions?

And seriously you should never use the toothpick it way too big it will damage the contacts use compressed air the use a small q- tip with some 99% iso and swipe in as far as you can.... hold the phone with the port towards the floor so the iso won't run into your phone. Make sure you remove the battery first of course. You can also use a baby toothbrush and be VERY gentle !! Let it dry and evaporate well before trying to plug it in....if it still doesn't work you can get the replacement port and install it they are extremely low cost from any online retailer like under 10 bucks.

I got the message that the charger or cord was not the original and that the one I was using was incompatible with my phone. Sometimes it would charge for a couple of minutes then it stops and I get this message. I've been charging with different cords and different chargers for years and never had a problem. I looked for apps to diagnose and/or fix it to no avail. The phone is getting old so I'm sure techs have more interesting things to do. All the info is old now. I also got the port sharing message saying I should get the app for it. It wasn't available at Samsung. The app I found was on Playstore and showed one page that doesn't move until you attach the phone to another device. I finally just sent for a new charge port and installed it. I haven't had a problem since. It was not an easy job. If you're not good at fixing electronic gadgets don't attempt it. Getting the glass off the front without breaking it was kind of hair raising. There are youtube videos. I've had cords go bad on me in the past. It's frustration when they work if you bend them one way and not the other. If you keep getting these messages, don't kid yourself it's a bad charging port. I had another phone like this with a port that had a metal piece work loose inside the port. When I plugged it in, it shorted the wires. I wedged it back into position with a needle using a microscope. It didn't do lasting damage. The computer that I had it plugged into kinda went berserk for a minute. It shut down the usb port temporarily.

THE BATERY IS THE PROBLEM EVEN THO IT SAYS 100% CHARGED. BEFORE I KNEW IT WAS A WORN OUT BATTERY I RESET/WIPED DATA, PLUGGED INTO MY PC FOR POWER AND THE PHONE UPDATED AUTOMATICALLY. IF UNPLUGGED FROM PC THE PHONE TURNS OFF. THESE OLD BATTERIES ARE THE PROBLEM.

I've tried everything short of black magic and voodoo to get this thing back. Brand new battery, still didn't resolve it. not the battery. have another s5 with a cracked screen, same issue, so it's not the charge port. different cables. i'm hoping any of these work. so thank you in advance.

nothing works. you said in the video that it's easy to change the charging port. where's your video for that? I watched another video how to do and it's extremely difficult to do and requires equipment I don't have.

I repair cell phones and ALL of his methods are good. I have used them also. You do have to use common sense. Hammers and walls and electronic equipment....don't mix.
